Round 1 - Express yourself

An essay about being a whole, authentic person in every way, good/bad, wrong/right, cool or not. This is a program I recorded for my daily Beliefnet.com e-newsletter with 1.3 million subscribers and listeners. I've received really positive comments.

Wellness Wave in America will explore the yearning that the United States has to seek moments of stillness and quiet amidst the chaos of our lives. This show will provide tools to go within, slow down, and experience, if even just for a moment, stillness.

This is a promo spot for a show I am interesting in making. The show would feature telling of traditional tales and connecting stories to modern life from a variety of views/voices. Example: Connecting "Cinderella" to different cultures, media, real life experiences. Thanks for listening!

This entry will give people an idea of who I am, what I do, and why I do it. I'd like to have a show that focuses on the creative process. I want to talk to famous and unknown artists to find out how they go about making their art and why.

I've always been fascinated when the average guy says he wants to run for President. As I asked the candidate a question I thought the listener would ask, (he was running as a Democrat) he got himself caught in a bad answer and was stalling to find a way out of it, but I wouldn’t let him.

This is the tail end of a 1 hour radio show answering folks' computer questions. It is fictional, but representative of the show I would love to produce for Public Radio. I tried to incorporate some of the ideas we have for the show and the potential for humor as well as information.

My entry is basically a teaser summary for what I would do if I was the host of my own radio talk show.

My life is full of goofy stories, and this is one of them. It gives listeners/judges a sense of my hosting style through a story about a bus, Arnold Schwarzenegger and me. The moral of the story: I am a serious journalist not afraid to laugh at myself. Enjoy!

My show is called Mindriot. I will take listeners on a trip inside of my brain. My compadre in arms, Shade Dangersmith, helps me start every show with a quote of the week. I want listeners to experience what goes on in my head....experience it in terms of music...my Mindriot!
