After You've Seen Everything

I have just finished 36 years in public office, and I think I've seen everything. Yet, as I ponder my next life steps, I remain fascinated with the power of radio to evoke understanding, help people decide issues, and captivate the mind.

It would be nice to see radio follow TV in that there are lots of shows and even stations which specialize in a particular topic like History or Animals and such. Hopefully with digital radio growing, the need for more programming will allow more specialization. I believe that is partly why there is a Quest to find new people and a search for more programming in general, to gear up to more availability in the future.

Anyway, that was all just a preamble to say that your entry was very good! You have a classic voice and delivery style and I could imagine your ideas taking up, not quite a whole radio station format, but maybe half of a radio station.

" . . . can be presented in a public interest forum VIS A VIS a great communication system entitled radio."

I was with you all the way alderman until you said "vis a vis." It's OK to write "vis a vis" but unless you have an English accent, a French accent or a lot of money, you may as well dump the affectation and go with "in relation to" or simply pause and say nothing. Much less distracting. Great thoughts. Thank you.

You seem to have led an interesting life, and anyone who gives themself over to public service for so long is to be commended, but your reading pace was a little too slow to engage interest, I'm afraid! I think you must have many interesting stories to tell, and I hope you can find a satisfying way to convey them.
Good luck to you!

Quite possibly you have seen everything -- and heard it too. It would be great to hear you host a show exploring the history of radio.

I think you would make an absolutely astounding addition to any medium. I really like the direction you'd choose to take outside of politics. You would certainly be pretty hosty. Radio could be your next calling. Good Luck!
