Help testing the contest entry process?

Submitted by matt on April 5, 2007 - 3:06pm. ::

Hi,

We've done some internal testing of the contest submission and voting process but I'm looking for help from some of the potential participants to make sure things go smoothly on the 16th.

To be clear: This will not increase your chances of being selected as a winner of Round 1 You'd be helping us to squeeze out any bugs in the process and that's all.

If you are interested in participating in our test group testing please reply to this forum post and I'll get in touch with a few of you with instructions for helping out.

Thanks!

I'll go and give all the friendly testers their 20 user points for helping out.

Again a big thanks to those of you that helped during the testing - I appreciate it. Get ready for Monday!

I'm guessing you need a diversity of operating systems and browsers, oui?

I have that, a lot of computers.

I am curious, though, about what you'll do with points.

1.So if you still need a warm body to help test the submission process, I'm happy to volunteer.

2. Lawyers will tell you they only ask questions in court they already know the answer to. And so I think I know what the response will be but nonetheless a query: just how strict is the first round 2:00 format? I've got a segment that's 2:18 I'd love to use but I imagine that won't pass muster.

I think this is where you're supposed to channel the most venomous judge on some other reality show where they tell you to suck in your gut because this isn't the feel good hour or something equally meanspirited.

I bet you can get the piece down to 2 minutes.

I do testing and support for a medical software company and I anticipate submitting an entry to the contest. I have been looking at the contest site for an upload portal, does one exist?

I've have a fast DSL connection, I'd be happy to help with testing if needed.

I am an ace bug-tester (ask my techies, I drive them nuts) and would be happy to help test out the submission process.
Let me know what you need.

I’ll be your tester monkey!

Good suggestion. We don't know what we're doing with these points yet but c'mon 20 points - that's awesome! 20 points might get you a brownie or a star named after you. Who knows - the point is that you'd be helping me test the submission process and we all know that we want that to work properly.

Come on, Matt, at least offer folks some of those mystery 'user points' for a test.
Seriously, I'm willing to help test the uploading system.
