Spiderman is not my friend

Submitted by Theresa Bakker on May 11, 2007 - 10:12pm. ::

Spiderman helps me tell a story about what hostiness means to me. Also, I tried to accomodate the deadline to the best of my reportorial advantage by getting it finished on time, but not too early or I knew I'd kick myself over what I didn't say.

Love your entry, and I understand about being the one asking the questions. I can't leave an acquaintance without knowing something about them - the auto mechanic with an obsession for giving foot rubs comes to mind.

My teenagers think I'm just nosy, but thanks for validating a questioning attitude. Good luck, I could listen to your voice with much future happiness!

Your voice and your mind are one in a million. I really enjoyed your piece. Captivating, interesting, and fun...

Very nice! I'd like to hear more!

Great voice, nice delivery -- would have enjoyed hearing you interact with someone such as a mock interview. Otherwise, you have a wonderful, soothing voice.

In many clips, people try to tackle the "hostiness" issue head on, and it often comes off a little flat to me. Many of them just don't give me that "aha" moment when I know this person is the real thing and will be a huge hit. But you are and will be. Good luck!

I'm not a big fan of Halloween myself. Anyway, I like how at ease you seem and think you would be a good fit for this. Good luck.

wow...someone in Alaska...very cool...it seems like such a mysterious and magical place...not a place where people live and listen to public radio...congrats on a nice entry and all the best.

Have a listen to me if you get a chance...

You wouldn't even don a costume for your Spiderman interview? Did you dress up for Halloween when you were a kid?

Total... nerdiness.... Yes, yes, You had me at Spiderman (Spider-Man, by the way...) I think I even had that same record as a kid. I had a Spider-Man and a Superman record, and then got into the comics and I love the TV Show (from the Electric Company, to the TV movies with one of the kids from The Sound of Music as Peter Parker, to the all the cartoons...) and I the movies are great...

So if you did get an interview program, you have to interview Spider-Man. You are now committed. Actually a whole show dedicated to interviewing Comics personalities (as in comic books) would be awesome! Not only the super hero stuff, but all the new stuff...

Must... restrain... enthusiasm... Anyway, great entry! Even if Spider-Man is not your friend. And not such a bad role model for a young-un'. He teaches good old American values, from an age when comics were banned if they didn't have them. Values like, if you see an old lady getting mugged, create a synthetic substance from house hold items and high school knowledge and then create a gadget to shoot said substance from wrist, then foil evil, doer mugger by hanging them from nearest lamp upside down with clever note for police when found.

Nicely done. I still have that record myself. Quoth the Spiderman: "Hated to do that, but I gotta get back to my pad and switch into my Spiderman outfit."

Submitted by Winterpen on May 23, 2007 - 1:40pm.

Loverly story, Theresa. I have a grandson and spiderman is a favorite at my house, too. Also, I'm so glad to know there are others like me out there. I ask a lot of questions and I think I'm being friendly. I've been told I sound like an interrogator. But you understand.

...In Alaska? Teehee! If it's anything like Finland, it is. You get a few weeks on either side of Midsummer for the mosquitos to breed and then it's nippy again.

Good job, Theresa! Good luck!

You're already a pro...so what can I say? You obviously know how it gets done, and the Spiderman hook is cute.

I hate going to parties and being interviewed. But you I probably wouldn't mind at all. Nice job.
