Voting Procedure
Can someone advise me as to how an entry submitted at the last moment will be able to compete via public voting with those entries submitted earlier to garner such public vote support?
The discrepancy in public votes would make it nearly impossible for a last minute entry to compete. There must be some kind of leveler?
...this is what I have so far: Looking at the rules, it seems that round one will have nine semi-finalists picked by the judges and one picked by public voting. So you'll have a nine in ten chance to get in even without public votes (if my math is correct, and there's always some question about that). I'm more interested in knowing whether this is a one vote per person kind of thing or whether someone with lots of time on his or her hands can vote over and over again. Additionally, I still can't figure out whether you can vote without registering - some people I've heard from are confused about that...
That's the rules.

Cecilia,
First you do know that there is a couple of weeks between the close of entry and the close of judging? (Check the timetable.) http://www.publicradioquest.com/node/55
But really that public vote is only for one of the ten 1st round finalists. And when you take into account the specious nature of some of the public voting the public vote is hollow. (It could be made more meaningful by simply applying a 20% voting rule. (That for a voters vote to count they must have reviewed no fewer than 20% of the entries.))
Your best bet is to just put in the best darn 2 minutes you can. Listen and read everything you can, because there are so many exceptional talents assembled here and you can learn so much (think grad school in hostiness). Network like crazy; establish that which will serve you best, life long contacts.
Oh, and best of luck,
Steve
