hehe she is very funny :) I love her accent. She raises a lot of good points. She would be one of those fantastic people to live with as she would fix all my dating problems lol. Which somehow reminds me my fridge is broken and I need to get new refrigerator parts, and no boyfriend or husband to help me :(

I may be too late to vote for you but I have just sent this charming, witty piece to my niece, my sister, my mom and some friends!

Meg, I should first admit that I did not have the time to listen to every entry. But now that it's all said and done, out of the ones that I actually did hear, the one that is sticking with me is yours. It's the only entry I listened to twice. Don't know what will happen tomorrow, but I hope that you advance to the next round. You're exactly the "freshening up" that Public Radio needs.

This is awesome Meg. From the first day I met you you had me rolling with your stories. I'd be totally psyched to hear you coming out of my radio on a regular basis. Good luck.

Never has the task of pulling yourself together after a breakup been captured so succinctly and with great humor. This is a voice I'd love to hear more from

loved it meg. your voice sounds good "on air" and is very "npr". there's no shame in wallowing in a little ben and jerry's...it does right by the soul. sending you some hugs from the other coast.

...a voice that purrs (or growls?). reminiscent of a big cat... suble and sharp, sexy and witty. meg brings a smile to my face every time.

I like your voice. There's something different about it that I just can't put my finger (ear drum?) on. By the way, as someone who was once dumped via email, I think you're coping very well.

great writing and the presentation was fabulous. it grabbed me in the right places, giving me a sense of hope but not allowing me to wallow in self pity. LOOK AT ME NOW!!! I got my slippers on. thanks!

Mt. Everest, eh? Just keep away from the old flame.

You are one of my favorites so next time remember to stop, drop and roll.

Submitted by CourtenayH on May 28, 2007 - 12:58pm.

You were right. Our entries do have a lot in common!

I really like your voice - it's completely different from anything out there - it's genuine, self-possessed and absolutely comfortable. A great listen.

Although I have to say my own goals post-being-dumped are a bit smaller than climbing Mt. Everest. Like climbing out of bed. There's a goal.

I grew up in NC (really small coastal town-havelock),
and but went to UNCG from 2002-2004. That's crazy, small world I guess! you know what, I never ate at Stamey's, that's sad.
I still like to listen to WUAG online though.

A cool, distinctive, expressive presentation, a jazzy, beat persona. It was a jam-packed two minutes and darkly-colored but tasty to the last. I think you're special, kid. I'm curious about your taste in music, about your opinions generally. A powerful entry.

I'm interested in your opinion of my entry too. Timing Is - Everything.

Best of luck!

Awesome awesome content and voice!
Saving you to my faves.

You just may have made Flip Flops the new official footware of NPR listners everywhere. (Well except for working that long shift at the health food store, or a fancy night out to a David Sedaris reading. Gotta dust off those Birky's for something.)

This is what I'm talking about people! In my audio, I make a bold statement: "I want to be part of reinvinting this format".
MK here is doing just that- reinvinting. The demographic of NPR has to get younger to survive.
That's a big chore. Why should someone keep a radio in their kitchen or bedroom when they have docking stations for their iPods, satellite receivers, etc... ?

You know the current saying "30 is the new 20, 40 is the new 50.....", it's really true.
We can do that for radio. We ARE doing that for radio.

Mt. Everest in Flip-Flops outdoes all schemes for getting over things with its severe and silly humor. Who'd have thought that the first baby step toward surviving loss would be prayer, with the final leap cushioned by 14.99 footwear? (That's the going rate for discounted designer flip-flops, in case you're in the market.) Best to you, Meg, in your side-splitting grief process. Ellen
