"A Lonely Guy Cooks"
This program needs to be aired on Friday nights. What a great way to unwind after a long, boring week. Your great sense of humor is very natural and I love that! Thanks for your comments on my entry, glad I looked you up. Good luck!

Your viewpoint is hysterical! Your voice has a nice blend of richness and edginess to it that makes it interesting to listen to.
BTWy, when surveyed, 85% of vegetarians say the one meat they miss the most is bacon....duhhhh...and how could anyone deny the viability of beer as bacon's sidekick? Great job and thanks for the laugh. Best of success in the contest.

Just wanted to put that in the subject line. I have actually heard that bacon is the gateway meat for many a fallen vegetarian. Vegetarians/Vegans be forewarned. Especially you vegt/vegn ladies -- keep your eye on this guy.
I love the concept of the show. And it couldn't have a better host. The jokes are great and I think your delivery and voice make them even better. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
Now THIS is the basis of a great show. I totally agree with everyone's assessment of your voice and humor. I could listen to you and your sidekicks all day. Bravo!
Great humor! And as a certified over-the-top lover of bacon, I can totally identify. Give me one piece and I'm hooked for a whole pile of bacon. It's much more addictive than potato chips. Thanks for the laugh ... ! I would get a kick out of hearing you on NPR ... Joy

That's what I'd call your show. I laughed and giggled. Although not a huge meat fan myself I love the description of bacon as heroin. It was like listening to a group of friends or neighbors talk in the kitchen. Warm and inviting. Loved the multiple voices to hear how you'd interact.
Thanks so much for your thoughtful and kind comments. It's encouraging that the style of the piece seems to have some appeal. Thanks for listening.
Your voice...your timing...you're in! That was fun.
I once gave a "Meat Basket" as a 50th birthday gift. It had a variety of Hormel products. Did you know that there is something called, "Potted Meat"? Of course there was Spam, Vienna Sausages and some Original Saltines. I threw in a White Trash Cookbook and some napkins. It was glorious.

Outside of myself and a few close friends, I've not come in contact with anyone who has known of Potted Meat. It's been a running joke with us for years. Anyway, I've tried it, and, well...I'm going to say it's an acquired taste, with all due respect to the fine folks at Hormel. Thanks so much for listening; glad you enjoyed this.
Every once in a while I get a craving for Vienna Sausages with Original Premium Saltines. I don't even look at the ingredients. I just eat it and smile.

I think you're on to something here. A few of my vegetarian friends like turkey bacon. Hmmmmm. I don't know about the Bud, though.
This is a beautiful entry. I was completely drawn in without knowing anything about the backstory - who your guests are or what the topic was, other than bacon. You have a relaxed presence and don't seem hyper aware of yourself or the fact that you're "on the air." That's rare. And wonderful.
Theresa
I very much appreciate your kind words, and am glad that the way this was approached appealed to you. Thank you for listening and taking the time to post a comment.
Not kidding Schup - found out this Memorial Day weekend that a friend is a self-described 'flexitarian' due to his exception for bacon in his otherwise vegetarian diet. We suggested he should perhaps call himself a lapsed vegetarian and there should be confession for these cases.
Thought you oughta know.

Getting to the bottom of things...
I'm glad to know that there is truth to be found even in going for a relatively easy laugh. Thanks again, Samantha.

Didn't expect to find something so funny! This was a lot of fun, hope you go far!
Very funny, very natural, a great listen, nicely done.
Now THAT WAS FUNNY !!!!! Thank you !!!
need to hear more - SOON !!! PLEASE!!!!!!
Reminds me of Peter Schickele's, and I mean that as a compliment. Not a classic "public radio" voice (another plus with respect to this contest, since the idea is to turn up something new, although I do like the good public radio voices too), but one that goes down easily and would work well with both humorous and serious topics.

I've never been particularly enamored with the sound of my voice. Like many performers, I modify depending on venue, audience, etc., etc., and so on. For this I tried not to worry about it and just focus on having a conversation, hoping to God it would go somwhere. Anyway, glad you liked this, "as is", and thanks for listening.
After listening further, I decided this is the funniest thing I have heard thus far. 5 stars.
Thanks for hanging in there and waiting for the good part. "Funny" was what I was after; "creepy", not so much. I'm glad you ended up liking this; appreciate you listening.
And flexible show. You can go anywhere with this.
Good luck & have a listen if you have time.

Loved this topic. I don't think bacon get's enough attention. Well, maybe in Canda, ey?
On your show, you should interview Jim Gaffigan. He loves to talk about food.
He once said that balogna was steaks retarded cousin. I disagree.
Anywho-
loved your voice. It has an Adam Carolla quality. (that's a complement)
And it was fun to listen too- like hanging out with friends!
Best of luck!

Shelly,
Thanks for taking the time to listen and posting such a complete and positive comment. The feedback is much appreciated, and best of luck to you as well.

Coincidentally, I've always wanted to get a vegetarian alone and shove some meat in her face.
Funny.
Good Luck!

Hear my entry:
David,
That was quite the response, certainly unexpected. Appreciate you listening, and glad you liked it.
