The Moment After

Is the glory of NPR sitting in the driveway for 10 minutes to hear the end of a story? I think it is the moment after, when you go into your house and say, "Guess what I just heard!". That is where my strength lies--in "The Moment After"--bringing people together to share ideas and beliefs.

This is a wonderful concept and a beautiful story. You have done so much with only two minutes. Bravo.

Nice entry.
I think it is interesting/slightly odd that all the stories of "dads" were of them driving. This is (perhaps unintentionally) such a portrait of a high modernist/nuclear family dynamic. Dad's at the wheel, Mom's in the passenger seat and the 2.5 kids are in the back (without wearing seatbelts). It is also a sweet tribute to the memory of your father.

A number of entries claim to be witty or humorous, but yours was the first one that made me laugh out loud. Thanks!

It never would have donned on me that you have a voice for radio, but you do, and a great one at that!! Good luck in your quest! I love your Moment After concept, but too bad I only have two cats to yell "Guess what I just heard!" to.

The cats would love to hear your ideas, Cindy.

Thanks for the support.

You have a great radio voice. I thought about your piece all evening after listening. It brought back memories of all the crazy things my Dad, Grandpa, and Uncles used to tell us. Good luck!!!

Thanks, Boz.

You've always been a great resource. I'll be picking your brain for those stories.

Sounds like a fun topic and I like the way you deliver it. Great voice. I like the way everyone will have these stories: My aunt once told me that if you're in the back of a truck and look forward, letting the wind in your eyes, your eyes will dry out and you'll have to turn your head to look around.

That's a great story. I had another person tell me her daughter thinks she has a magic finger: she can create chocolate milk, make lights turn green, etc.

Ahhh, the things we do to kids.

Good luck to you!

I like the title, I wish what you were doing was more of a twist on it in some way, but its very nicely done.
Good Luck, then!

I love the title, too, and there does need to be a twist. My goal is to get past this first round, then there will be even more chances to flush out more ideas.

Thanks for the honest feedback. I'll pop over and listen to you now.

My first thought was, "Yeah - everyone can relate to this topic!" I think you're onto something good - very engaging ideas, voice, and tone.

Thanks for the encouragement. My daugher wanted to listen to my entry over and over and over today. I thought that was a good sign.

This was fun to listen to. I just forwarded it to my dad!

Let me know what your dad says. I've been getting funny stories from people about their childhood, or the funny things they've told their own kids.
