Miss Rapid Ride Waterslide

Enjoy this synopsis of some of the life experiences that have made me who I am. I am someone who lives life to the fullest, taking advantage of every opportunity, surfing life like a wave with ups and downs but always with a positive attitude; someone who would make an excellent host on NPR.

Great writing t-lisha. I really enjoyed this piece, especially the ending, "But, that's another story." Nice way to "show" the story at the end with an example of one of the many stories I'm sure you have up your sleeve. I, too, am a storyteller. I would love to hear some more of yours.

I could also relate to many things you said.

On my report card? "Jim is a great student, but talks too much and takes too long to explain."

Great entry!

I agree that your voice is beautiful, but your delivery also has a very intimate feel to it which makes me understand why people would feel comfortable opening up to you. I got a nice sense of who you are as well from your entry. Good job!

I enjoyed getting to know you in this brief snippet and can understand why people open up to you --- it sounds like you care. Tell us more about the Rapid Ride Waterslide Pageant, and good luck!

You have a very warm and open quality. Think it would play quite well on NPR; nicely done.

Warm and inviting voice and VERY easy to listen to. I think you'd make a great NPR host. Brava!

Thank you so much for listening to my clip Craig and I'm so glad you liked what you heard.

Good luck to you too!

"Miss Rapid Wide Waterslide"? Did I hear that right? That was great! Hope you get that shot at radio or at least podcasting.

You talk easily and seem comfortable with yourself. Keep it up!

Pretty funny thing right? The other girls in the contest were sponsored by beauty shops or retail stores (Miss Belles & Bows or whatever). But my sash said Miss Rapid Ride Waterslide. It was perfect because I've always been one to stand out in a crowd. Hee Hee

Glad you enjoyed the piece. Thank you for reviewing it.

...and now that i've listened to yours, I'd like to sit down and tell you about everything that's ever happened to me. Do you have a moment?

You should have spent the whole 2 minutes telling the rapid ride waterslide beauty pageant story, which sounded incredibly interesting, and I regret not being able to hear it! It could have brought a lot of life and color to an otherwise very ho-hum entry. I learned nothing about you really, and heard little except a bunch of platitudes that repeat what scores of other entries on this site have, how "everyone has a great story to tell"..... I mean, that's obvious. So spend your precious time telling YOURS.

what do you think of my piece? honest criticism appreciated....

I ment it sounds like something that would be on WBEZ. Not something currently on WBEZ. I should have said it has the NPR feel.

Have glass of Pino Grecio, relax, listen to a few clips, and click a few stars!!!!!!!

No one should, look back with regret on all that they never did: the beauties they did not see, the music they did not hear, the flavors they did not taste, the aromas they did not inhale, the sensations they did not feel.

Thank you Steve. I did check out your clip. Good luck to you too in the Quest.

Thanks Defkawn you too. Do you get broadcasts of The Current out there? Your talents would be well suited to the great mix of music played on that station. Good luck.

From an old radio hand, believe me, this gal has got it! Great voice, great delivery and the good sense to leave 'em wanting more at the end. I think she'd be a natural at it!

Thank you so much for your kind words. It doesn't seem fair that something this much fun can be a job too. But you would know! Thanks again for listening.
