Binoculars - then and now

Submitted by djbenharvey on May 13, 2007 - 8:14pm. ::

We all people watch. Some of us moreso than others. I'm the type who goes so far as to pull out the binoculars and spy at my neighbors from across the way. This piece is about watching people from afar, creating your own plotlines about them in your head.

You production value is amazingly good. Your voice, the fast paced editing, the music choice... stellar job sir.

I mean really, really good.

DO you think binoculars can be used to look inside oneself?

You know - a lot of people in their clips talk about the kind of show they want to create, and I've found the "talking about my show" to be a bit boring. Yours is the first "show idea" clip that I truly enjoyed: you wove together your explanation and your example extremely well, and your personality shines. I could listen to more of you.

And your last line is fantastic! Well done.

So, this is great. You have a really nice tone -- authoritative, yet friendly. You also sound A LOT like your Dad. The clips of your parents were great. And, I really enjoyed how you compare the intimacy of radio with people-watching. How astute. I love people-watching, especially in foreign countries or watching foreign-language speakers, because you can really take liberty with what they are saying -- it's all about body language. My friends and I used to make up story lines to Spanish language soaps. As for reality TV ... well, I've been thinking a lot about whether "reality radio" will be the next big thing to hit the airwaves. Maybe you'll be the host.

Good job. This is an excellent submission. Hope to hear more from you!

Loved the piece, brotha. You filled two minutes with juicy goodness. Now, quit listening at me, sicko. Good luck!
