The Adler Hours is the concept for a variety show that goes from low to high -- interviews with hustlers and conversations about geopolitics....all through the lense of a well-informed modern gay man.

To someone who scouts radio talent: here's a gay voice unwilling to pander to gay or straight audiences, which makes for a very stimulating listen.

Great voice, intelligence and sense of humor. I think what really made the piece for me was your mom (was that really your mom??). By including that you're implying that you can be this super hip, out gay man interviewing a hustler, but you're still thinking about how your mom would respond. When I hear people say outrageous things in the public forum, I always wonder: gee, aren't they worried their mom will find out. I think by adding that it expands the universal appeal of you, as a radio personality.

the conversation with her was part of a larger interview i did where she called in after hearing me "interview" a hustler (and in the course of that conversation let it be known that i had been to a hustler myself) -- she was just learning this at that moment and her reaction is genuine.

Great show. I would listen just because there is so much homophobia still floating around and so much lack of "identification,"--of course--especially from your Mom!! I once read an interesting comment, "there's nothing that gay people do sexually that heterosexuals don't do." I do a little bit of teaching, so whenever I make that comment to the class, it's interesting to watch folks attempt to come up with something--we've got to be different from those weird gay people or they've got to be doing something weird!!
