The American Soundscape

I am expressing myself through a show that I feel needs to be produced for the good of radio and music. The American soundscape exposes indepentent artists from across the country through music and intervies.

Great entry! Your voice and delivery sound like they've been on the air for years and years. Your enthusiasm for music reminds me of Dick Clark (hopefully that's not offensive.) Not that I grew with Dick Clark or anything, but for some reason it reminds me of what I have seen of him doing his thing.

Hey man, your voice sounds great on there... I didn't hear a Peppertown mention though.... Oh well. Great Job and good luck!

Nick,

Great Job! Your voice sounds really clean and the content is amazing. A show to support the smaller groups around the country would be awesome. Good luck in the competition.

What if we start a station called, "WYPR" "Wrestless Youth Public Radio." The shows will be geared toward the younger crowd, and will feature all the news anc culture to which they SHOULD be exposed every day.

Blues, Hip-Hop, Reggae...let's do it!

This is the kind of show that would work for countless public radio stations. Nice production, voicing and most of all, thanks for communicating the theme of the show in a professional, interesting and informative manner. Your submission should go far in this contest.

You have a great voice, and your passion for unknown/less known music is crystal clear! I would tune in just to hear something I've never heard before, and I think that potluck aspect would appeal to a lot of people.
Great submission, hope it does well!

If I am lucky enough to get enough attention out of this contest for someone to help me develop my show, get some kind of syndication, and some cash then I will be on your doorstep ready to roll.

Sounds like a great show! I like the idea of a traveling radio host. You can get a taste of sounds that are unique to specific regions and cities, and listen to artists you could only otherwise hear if you went to a local music event. And it's original: unlike World Cafe or All Songs Considered you cover artists that are not widely known, and not... um... corrupted by the industry! It's got an independent, grassroots, local kind of feel to it, without sacrificing quality or being mundane. When you consider it, that's really where radio is going: the internet allows listeners to feel like locals, to connect with other smaller communities even if they're halfway around the world. So your show is truly Americana at its core. You might even want to consider making it into even more of a travel-oriented show by opening with a profile of the city, town, or region that you are focusing on. (Or does that distract too much from the focus?)

At any rate, you're a natural. Much less rigid and self-conscious sounding than many of these entries... Keep up the good work. Good luck with the contest!

Hey Nigich,

You clearly have hostiness and I love the fact that you embrace independent artists. Are ya willing to come all the way to Black Rock City and check out our our finest? I guarantee some of 'em will blow you away!

Just one thing...I want to know more about YOU!!! I recognize you're being the consummate host by stepping back and playing the music so I gave you top marks for that, but I'm still really, really, really curious about who you are.

Anyway, good luck!
