Travel home with me
This goes on my favorites list. As someone who has moved house many times, I am very interested in your topic; and even in two minutes you've managed to bring up many issues that I also wonder about: What makes a place "home"?
And obviously you have a bit of salesmanship in you--the tag at the end worked for me! Best of luck!
The voicing and pace was great, interesting topic not a focus on NPR currently; and i like the hook at the end.
Best of luck!
I would like to give you a radio show. Nice Work. Lovely Voice.
Just what's needed. Different in tone, thought, perspective, intelligence. Tantalizing, really tantalizing.
If nothing else, we can tell each other the stories we want to hear!
Seriously, don't stop telling us about Cindy and all the other "nobodies".

This was so well done. It really resonated.

What great idea for a show and what authority you bring to it. I agree with others that this needs to be heard! -Will, http://www.publicradioquest.com/audio/user/5723
I know you want to win the contest. We ALL want to win this contest. Teehee.
But if it doesn't work out that way, I'm telling you you must not let this project fall by the wayside. It's a fascinating subject and you seem to have some excellent ideas about how to pursue the subject with a variety of people.
This could be a book? A series of articles. A podcast, even.
Don't let this disappear!

PS: Good job and good luck!

Joe and Neesha,
Thank you for the positive comments. Actually posting this piece in a public forum is scarier than I thought. But I'm guessing I'm not the only person obsessively checking to read what others think... If I am, I don't want to know.
I wish I had made my description a little more, well, descriptive but... {True Story} I thought the deadline was May 13, 11:59 p.m., not May 14, 11:59 p.m. Being the queen of last minute, I rushed to post my audio file at 11:57 p.m. (on May 13).
The result: not much time to write more about what my little contribution is about.
But hopefully, the audio will speak for me - though of course, that IS me speaking.
Oh, never mind....

great voice and an interesting topic. having lived abroad for years i can relate to the issue, and i want to hear about the family in brooklyn. the laidback sound of the show is nice too. good luck with the contest, you should totally get your own show!
I think this is a terrific, universal topic that is very relevant to listeners. The concepts of home, belonging, roots and identity are ones that we all struggle with at various points in our lives, and I can see all kinds of topics/discussions branching out from this one theme. Brava! And best of luck to you, Bix.
