A Reflection on Words, Noise, and Gigantism
I live in a house filled with noise. I think our cultural landscape is also abuzz with such "noise," and I talk about how the unadulterated spoken word can become a respite from all that. I compare my house with America as a whole, to boot.
Thanks for listening! P.S.
I liked how natural and honest this was in both the subject matter and delivery.
Thanks and good luck.
You've really hit this issue on the head. You're right, it's almost impossible to find silence anywhere. I live in the country, well, sort of. It's all relative. But now with the warm weather, there's nothing but a harsh symphony of lawnmowers and weed wackers everywhere, all the time. We're a culture that doesn't know how to enjoy silence -- ever!!! We run from it. Granted I can talk a blue streak with the best of them, but I enjoy long moments of pure silence mixed with the natural sounds of the earth. I'm glad you've brought this to light. You also have a nice, friendly voice. I wish you the best of luck. Please check out my entry. I'd appreciate your feedback as well.

Kalle,
That was wonderful. I really could feel the vibrations from the booming voices in your house, and my dorm room was across from the bathrooms and next to the stairs...an echo chamber.
You really brought the story life and energy.
I just bought some land at Lake James near Hickory, where are you located approximately?

I enjoyed your entry. Your ideas, combined with your voice and delivery gave me a thoughtful, wistful feeling, a "rainy Sunday" sound, that I thought would work very well on the radio.
I found your entry from your message board post for constructive comments, so I hope that this comment qualified.
If you have an opportunity, I would appreciate your thoughts on my entry, Timing Is - Everything.
Thanks, and good luck.

And well written. You did a good job of presenting an argument and tying it all together, an argument relevant to the quest. In doing so you showed yourself. That was very well done.
I'm not exactly sure why, since I have zero audio experience, but it was a little hard to listen to. Probably something that could be changed with production values, but you had a hard edge that had me cringing back at the same time I was leaning forward for the content.

Kalle,
Thank you for posting this bit of your self... I enjoyed hearing your thoughts, delivered with a quiet certainty.

People either do what they are predisposed to do, or compelled to do.
Exactly. I think that most of terrestrial radio, excluding public radio, seems to forget the romance of radio... the romance of sound. Thank God there's people like you to champion it.
