Music. It's What's For Dinner.

I figured the best way to introduce myself was to talk about what drives me most - great music.

Great voice and presentation, and you have it absolutely right. No music is bad music, because *somebody* loves it. Good luck from a guy with no Spice Girls (although I'll take one if you happen to dig one up).

You can have 'Say You'll Be There' if you want -- but really, if I'm going to give anyone music, Spice Girls is pretty far down the list... I'm just saying, I mentioned Voxtrot too but no one's biting that line.. and oh! what a line it is!

thanks for the comment :)

I know you want your own nation radio show... I wouldn't mind letting you talk to the nation about music... sounds like you've got the music in you.

1. I, too, totally listen to the music and can name some of the best bits. Like the first 54 seconds of Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand were the most promising 54 seconds, but they gave way to less impressive other seconds :)

2. I don't have the Spice Girls on my iPod, but I do have them on a mix tape someone made me in 1997. So tell me what you want, what you really really want.

3. I have to admit that I do judge people by what's on their iPods. Not based on the Spice Girls, but if it were, say, Constantine Maroulis or something. You have to admit that you might question that person's sanity.

I enjoyed listening.

Thanks so much for listening to mine.

Nice piece.

A: You will never find 'spice Girls' on my playlist -- not since the first generation iPod at least.

B: Name dropping bands is a fun and decisive way to show that you are cool and at the same time, decide if the person you are talking with is as cool as you (I don't include myself in this category, but I see the use of it).

C: It's also a healthy ego check to name drop. For example, once said " uncool person" knows those same bands you drop, and you can't come up with more obscure bands (that you actually like) to counter the now devalued "known" bands -- then you really aren't as cool as you think you are.

C: Thank you for identifying name droppers. It should be a new archetype. Once again, nice piece.

You're missing out on the Spice Girls. Five voice harmonies and pop-beats... it's my weakness, what can I say.

I like to name drop so I can talk about my favorite bands. It's really just a ruse to steer the conversation to the topic of my choice. But a whole archetype... interesting idea indeed!
