OFF the BEATen Track: An intelligent travelogue of unusual places, odd phenomena, and out-of-the-ordinary people
What can I say? You know Trek.
Barns are red, because it was the cheapest paint to use... and considering how much had to be painted; cheap was the sensible way to go.
See, you never know where your answers in life will be answered... I hope yours are answered out where the wolrd is quirky.

It falls to the enlightened, and the intelligent and the sane to take responsibility for the deluded or doltish or insane.
you'd be guaranteed a big Northwest audience!
Really like the idea of discovering little-known or forgotten spots. It'll be a challenge. You'll need moles everywhere! That's what websites are for. =)
Nice work, and good luck!

If I ever have the chance to bicycle across America again, I will try it Stacy's way "stopping to smell the roses". In year 2000 my cycling background was so limited that I just concentrated my focus on surviving the typical 100 mile daily challenge.
Each day, my wheels were turning at 6am to improve my chances of avoiding afternoon traffic, thunder storms, and head winds. My survival strategy worked but I missed the "world's largest ball of twine" and the two headed cow.

I think the idea would draw many many listeners, including myself. There would seem to be an endless supply of topics, including many listener supplied ideas (and people would tune in to see if their idea got a mention). On top of that, Stacy has a voice that I found myself wanting to listen to more and more.
Stacy is an unbelievably creative person with a good radio voice. She'd be great!

for "world's largest roadside attractions". Gigantic pineapple shaped building, anyone?

Wow! I bet you already know about roadsideamerica.com, but if you don't you should really check it out. There is also a great PBS documentary called "A Program about Unusual Buildings and other Roadside Stuff" that is available on dvd. Also, I would totally listen to your show!

it's this american life, plus borat, with a little larry king and what do you know? rolled in.
The story of your dog in iraq would be a fun episode ...
:-)
You might find out why when a man has 3 dogs, only one of them is considered a pet and has a name, the other two, who are bloodhounds, and are hunters, don't have names because they are work dogs.
This is what I found out years ago, from talking to a random person who was standing out in front of his house in a rural part of northern arkansas
Hi!
I vote for Stacy G!
She'd be dandy to interview odd folks here and yon...given her worldview.
...how 'bout a kickoff in New Orleans!

I will need an I-Pod FM receiver for my own bike, just to be sure I can listen to Stacy (Click and Clack, move over).
I'm not going to be obsessed with finding out why barns are red.

"Weird, wacky and wild" ... but you're great! I love the idea of a radio travel show. I love traveling, especially backroads. I love the weird roadside oddities you find along the way. I'd love to host a travel show myself, but I'd settle to listen to yours. I'd be a big fan. Good entry, good idea, and good luck!
