Socratic Dialog

When I was in college the best classes were taught using the Socratic method. The coolest part of Socratic dialogs is that you come in with one perspective and you can leave with a completely different one This is what I'd like to propose for a radio show.

Check out Christopher Lydon's show out of Boston. His show seems to embody what you are talking about. It's called OPEN SOURCE. Good luck and nice work.

in setting up the idea. This could have been a lot more compelling if you gave an example. Ya know, 'show, don't tell.' Also, it _may_ end up be just 'rehashing' what's already all over the radio. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

This is a very nice idea, quite flexible. I've always been interested in the Socratic method and I think you have a good grasp of it and the potential to do something interesting.
Good luck to you!

Kim,

Wow, have I got something for you. I've been doing what you are wanting/toying with for over eight years. Please take a listen to my submission, and read my short TIB essay on PC.

Steve

No one should, look back with regret on all that they never did: the beauties they did not see, the music they did not hear, the flavors they did not taste, the aromas they did not inhale, the sensations they did not feel.

I totally dig it. I didn't study the socratic method, but I want to learn more just from your posting. Perhaps there can also be a "Modest Proposal" section ala Jonathan Swift. Could be entertaining and in the same ball park. Maybe just once a month. I'm available! ;-)

Thank you for such kind comments. I do hope the idea catches on and absolutely a "Modest Proposal" section! Thanks again.
