I've been faking it
I've spent over a third of my life convincing myself I have a future in engineering, having abandoned my original passion for theater and the performing arts. It's only recently that I realized that I never left theater: I've only been acting the part of an engineer all this time.
That you seem to have realized/remembered where your original passion and excitement came from! No one should feel trapped by their first career choice!
Nicely paced piece, a voice with lots of character!
Good luck to you!

What a voice and truth always wins....when you know how to use it!
Yours is the best I've heard. No faking!
I to will admit this same nagging glitch in my life.
Brother we have this in common, feel free to write.

If rules are made to be broken then, comfort zones are for leaving.
At least you weren't pantomiming the part of an engineer this entire time instead.
i love that being an adult = 9-5 and a salary... neither of which seem to be in any foreseeable future.
good thing we found this contest! *phew*
