Date-A-Month Club
Tired of New Year's resolutions I had no desire to keep, a couple of years ago I decided to go out with someone new every month in hopes of finding someone special – or, at least, not coming across as desperate if I were asked out. One setup by mutual friends actually led to this communiqué.
CC ... what a fascinating submission -- and life experience. I found it so intriguing that I listened several times. You've got a great voice & style. I wish I were able to hear you in Fla. Hope to hear you on NPR ... All the best! - Joy

Clearly a winner! Funny, smart and sexy. That's a combo that NPR clearly needs! Great job and very nice production value!
Wow. That was the most interesting way to present an entry.
Fabulous!

Very professional in all regards...except the story is just plain creepy. Yeah, I want to know what happens next...so I guess this rates as excellent work. You've never worked at a reptile house, have you?
Voice- check. Delivery & Pacing- check. Writing- check. Great production & editing- bonus checks.
That was a great way to spend two minutes...5*s!
Much more interesting than the e-mails I get from Nigerian lawyers informing me of the death of unknown people who allegedly share my last name.

I was entranced by your voice and by your tale. It's a captivating story unlike any I've ever heard, and like great storytelling, you left me wanting more. Well told. Well done.

CC,
I enjoyed listening to your entertaining and creative tape and identified with the subject. I've forsaken the online dating world (any dating world, actually), but still keep the introductory emails I received from men, because they are so incredibly revealing and interesting. You could do at least one show that consists of women and men, their identities protected of course, reading from aforementioned emails of this ilk. Oh, wait, that's a good idea for MY show.
Anyway, good luck with the contest and your search for the perfect date.
Mary
Good work! I'd like to hear the next chapter ...

Liked the different voices. Date-a-month reminds me of Maria Dahvana Headley's Year of Yes. She spent a year saying yes to every single man who asked her out, then wrote a book about it. I'd listen to a radio show about it, definitely.
Good luck!
Confusious Says rate a clip with some stars every day and you will always have a guiding star at night.
That was really good - and the added touches of audio production show off your professionalism. So - what the hell happened next?
C'mon over to my place for a different kind of story!

Catherine,
This was a fun story, and did a lot to demonstrate your 'hostiness'.
I must also THANK YOU, for you have now given me the ability to root for a local talent!
I'm sure there are others, but you're the first who had a webpage to prove it.
All the best!

CC, you've got some great pipes. And, I got a kick out of your story. What an oddly cordial e-mail with such shocking content. And, the part about your dad made me laugh, "if you've gotten mixed up in porn ..." My dad would have laughed at me, too. Funny story. Good job!

but I was confused with the concept, to be honest. How does this (albeit fascinating) story relate to Date-a-Month Club?
Would love to hear more...

and I am very cross with Miss Cuellar. She knows that was intended to be private.
Maybe listening to so many people's segments has burned me out, but I couldn't really follow what was real, what was flashback in this one...
Good luck to us all! (and I like your moniker!)

No one should, look back with regret on all that they never did: the beauties they did not see, the music they did not hear, the flavors they did not taste, the aromas they did not inhale, the sensations they did not feel.
i LOVE the idea of cc being involved in an underground porn ring! i bet it's hot and involves croquet mallets.
