Points - What are they?

There are two different types of points on the site - user points and affiliate points. You gain them by performing different actions on the site. You gain user points by voting on entries, inviting friends, having them join the site and posting topics in forums.

Affiliate points are gained when you signup, grab a banner and place it on your website. When visitors to your site click on that banner you gain affiliate points.

We haven't yet figured out what we going to do with the points and were open to suggestions. The current thought is that we'll take the top X from each the user points list and the affiliates points list and give them something useful and fun. Other members have suggested what we should do with them - do you have any?
