This is so good in so many ways. The content was fresh, the production was solid, the delivery was smooth and natural, and the voice, well...what can I say? Thank you.

Ok, disclaimer up front--I DO know Katie's work very well since she works for me! And while I may be biased, I have been a programmer in this industry for 24 years and never have I encountered someone with such a genuinely fresh voice & perspective. Her stories are compelling and I hope the judges realize Katie's enormous potential as a host!

I enjoyed the originality of your questions. Each one of them were as unique as the individuals for whom they were meant. I'm left wanting to hear the entire interview and yet somehow know...like the potato chips no one can eat just one of, I would be wanting more.

You come across as smart, genuinely curious, and poised. I could listen to your voice for, say, an entire show on NPR! ;) Definitely left me wanting more. Five stars!

Thank you for the link to the full clip. I really enjoyed it and am feeling just a bit smug that I may be the only listener to take advantage of it. It was certainly worth the time. Congratulations on a job well done- again!

Public radio is all about asking the deeper, tougher questions. I'd definitely love to hear a whole show of you doing just that. Great work, Katie. :)

You obviously have a lot of experience and your clip is great! I think the fact that people want to hear who you are interviewing and what their answers are is a testament to your questions. I appreciate how the content of your clips shows a wide variety of interests and an open mind. Your voice and presentation is very down to earth and friendly, but it still has that focus to keep things on track. Your clip of Larry Jackson was awesome and proves your open mindedness. I am extremely curious about what that was about!

You definitely have a good voice for radio, and you know how to edit your pieces. I probably would have liked to know who you were interviewing and some details on what the artist you were interviewing had accomplished so far. It would definitely shed some light on your subject and make an even more compelling interview. Just a thought.

Submitted by Katie Ball on May 7, 2007 - 7:34pm.

The feedback on this piece has been very helpful. One recurring comment has been that listeners would like to hear the answers to these questions--that's a good thing : ) So I've posted a piece on PRX that offers just that.
If interested, log on to www.prx.org/pieces/18374, I welcome any feedback.
