Interview with Comedian Rob Nash and Writer/Publicist Nettie Hartsock

Submitted by Coach Lynn on April 16, 2007 - 3:02pm. ::

It's a good thing Rob and Nettie are so professional. I was subbing for another host on KOOP 91.7FM, this was the first time I'd met Rob and Nettie was 15 minutes late cuz of my lousy directions. Listen to me keeping things going with Rob while trying to make non-verbal amends with Nettie!

...stays out of the way and draws out the people she is interviewing. You did that perfectly. Very nice entry!

I listened a couple of times because it's a good audio. Needs more of you, though, and reading your bio I expected more "helping people to find what really brings them joy through what they do for a living." I guess I'm looking for all the help I can get. I agree with earlier posters that I would have liked to hear more of you ... But maybe that's validation of your "hostiness," since so many of were left wanting more, rather than just moving on to the next two-minute clip. Good luck!

It seemed like you had a good radio voice and you certainly kept your interviewee talking, but we didn't hear much of you or get much of a sense of your personality, y'know? I generally liked this but couldn't say what you should improve or work on cause I just didn't get to know you very well in these 2 minutes!
Still, smooth voice. Good luck!

I enjoyed Lynn's interview, even though it was short. Lynn's voice sounded very smooth and sincere. You came across very professional in your questioning! I will listen to the entire interview to get a better idea of the content.

I checked out your website and I think your expertise could definitely be shaped into a compelling public radio show.

There is something about this that definitely hooked me. I think it is part voice, part topics and part setting. Good job and good luck :)

Lynn did a fantastic job of being engaged and interacting with the guest. She asked good questions and she has a great voice.

Though even traffic and weather are more interesting to me than the particular pile-up pattern portrayed in your piece (I always thought it was 'smear the CLEAR' -- silly me), this is what a good i-viewer does: draws out people at their most multi-dimensional and interesting. So then you get at something to which I'm no stranger, the verbal euphamisms 'debting' and 'under-earning'.

That's where the trouble comes into paradise when you're...

Enjoyed the interview.Lynn showed good listening skills as well as questioning skills. Really liked the sound of her voice.

I was glad to listen to that....sounds like a local pub broad talent out here in Oregon....I liked your sincerity but I would have really liked to hear more of your voice

Even in such a short clip I could hear your ability to make the guest comfortable to share such interesting and personal experiences. Very calm, warm voice and the ability to connect to the guest in a meaningful way. Good job!

Lynn has a warm, appealing voice and an quick, easy laugh. I could hear her interest in her subject, and he certainly responded by revealing many intimate details. I want more Lynn!!

Very calm - while not much there, Lynn's voice is just the right amount of calm and interest in Rob. I wanted to hear more!

Submitted by erinivey on May 10, 2007 - 3:07pm.

I like that Lynn keeps the focus of the interview on the interviewee. She brings out some really personal details quickly.

In what you have, you are calm, controlled, and keep the interview moving. I wish you could have presented some audio with more of your voice!!

Submitted by izzi on April 18, 2007 - 9:31am.

Lynn sounds ok - but not enough of her in the tape to really get a sense of her style/personality

Submitted by Janean on April 16, 2007 - 9:58pm.

Please correct me if I've got this wrong... Rob is the interviewee, and I'm supposed to be rating the interviewer? Sorry, but I don't hear anything about the person doing the interviewing. I actually don't know anything about Rob, either, because of questions like "How you're doin' what you're doin'?"

I have to tell you guys that I think I jumped the gun with copying/posting a bit out of an interview (with Rob Nash) rather than just introducing myself and giving you a sense of who I am on the radio. There actually was more of "me" within this interview, but as I submitted it and kept getting told by the computer to cut it back, the "me" got edited out!?!? Hopefully you can get a quick sense of me at the beginning.

For more full interviews of me you may go to www.sacredpathcoaching.com and then click on my blogs and interviews.

Thanks for listening and I certainly appreciate your comments.
