Stop Swinging Your Lantern In The Woods -- Here I Am

I put aside thoughts of high production value (or any production value) and just poured my heart out about something I would very much love to do.

I never wanted you to stop talking. Your voice is amazing, and the last comments are sending me to my closet to give away that unflattering mustard-colored dress.

Thanks!

You've got a great voice and real talent. The sign-off's were great - - I think I'd listen to each show just to hear what your sign-off would be. :-)

Check me out and let me know what you think! All opinions welcome!

You do have a great and professional voice. Now you want a push, right? Problem is I need to know what will be your format. Judges won't give you a mission, you have to create your own mission. It seems you want someone to guide your career. In this contest, you have to create somthing the public radio audience wants to hear. You have all the talent, now show it.

Hay Darren -

Obviously, you're a radio pro. And classically hosty. I give you extra credit for the cute triple-signoff bit. When we see you in round two, I'd like to here more about the substance of what you want to deliver, too.

Others said you sounded good, so I had to go listen. I liked what I heard, and you obviously have a good radio voice.

May I encourage you and your fans to go listen to Rand Luttenberg as well:

Another person with a great voice; acting, radio, and voice-over experience; who only needs a slight push -- or more accurately, your attention and vote -- to turn a passion into a career.

Good luck all!

Smartly done, Sir. You should have your own show. Even if you don't win this contest, specifically ... Keep going, Darren Stephens.

THIS Darren is a keeper. He'll make his own magic.
I enjoyed his honest, heartfelt approach and delivery.
If I could wiggle my nose and make it so-- I'd pick Durwood. Ahh, I mean Darren.

It isn't every day you hear a voice that plays back to you over and over again. This is a man with a rare talent and a brilliant wit who knows how to use it . . . he's got my vote. Good luck Darren!

Darren,

I hear you and you sound great. You say you live to be curious. I hope you'll want to listen to my submission.

No one should, look back with regret on all that they never did: the beauties they did not see, the music they did not hear, the flavors they did not taste, the aromas they did not inhale, the sensations they did not feel.

I love a man who wants to be pushed a little...come on, let's give this guy what he wants!
He's certainly got the talent, desire, and heart.
Go Darren!

Darren clearly has the passion and the pipes for this kind of work. He's a perfect fit for NPR -- heck, I'd pledge $50 (with or without a tote bag!)

You know this Chicago voice talent is a professional and a natural for NPR. Note how he articulates and feel the energy . . . for sure you won't fall asleep at the wheel.
