I wanted to let you know a little bit about why music is such a huge part of my life. For me, live music is an addiction. Ever since I was 14. I've been to hundreds of concerts, and I can't see myself ever stopping. I live for the unrehearsed moments in music.

...but you top the great voice with a great concept that is certainly near and dear to my heart. Excellent effort!

You have a very smooth and relaxing voice. A perfect fit for a music program. Good job.

you're so right about spontenous moments. My favorite is when the performers talk unscripted to the audience.

Outstanding! Great delivery and presence, and the bit about bands trying something different was great (I've been on both the audience end and the band end for more than a few of those experiments, and you're absolutely right - it may succeed wildly or sink like a stone, but it's always an adventure worth witnessing)... Valerie's got it down, people - best of luck to her from a fellow contestant who's admittedly feeling a bit less sure of himself after hearing her!

As a 33-year-old who still sees live music weekly, I can relate. Do you know Beatle Bob? Regardless of whether or not you win the quest, I'd be interested to hear your music "station" on Last.fm.

Live shows are something you either get all the way down to your toes, or you don't. If I had to be somewhere past the first ten rows, I would hate it, because you're too far from the performer. It'd be great if you did a show on the experience of going to concerts. I would totally listen.

Very simple. But elegant. I'm completely convinced. You're so natural. Very warm. And you passion for live music is infectious. Did you stick with the law? (I got out a while ago!)

You go, Valerie!

Thank you so much for your kind words.

I have stuck with the law, although I've changed disciplines several times. I love it. When I'm at gigs or music conferences and people ask what I do, I still think it's cool to tell them I'm a lawyer (and not a music lawyer, either). I think it surprises people :)

Thanks again!

Valerie

YOU have a smooth voice, as well. I could listen to you for hours. Unfortunately, the spontaneity that you describe rarely happens now with the bands I love...

I used to road trip for bands constantly when I was young and didn't pay bills on time. ;) Now, I rarely do it but I occasionally take days off work to go to shows out of town. I'm going to the Rock The Bells festival in July and I can't wait!

Good luck and I hope to hear you on the radio sometime! :)

The first concert, like the first of "other" things, is a solid memory that endures. My first concert was Def Leppard in the early 80s. They would become my favorite band and high school obsession. My husband's first was Van Halen which would become his favorite. I've always wondered if that is the case with other people...the first concert band=favorite. What do you think?

Good job and good luck, Travelisha
Also thanks for your review of my piece.

Nice look into why we like live music. Except, of course, for Peter Frampton's live performance which got played over and over and over again. No "surprise" in that one!
Good luck.

5 Stars because of how you said "Modern Rock, No Commercials".
Now That's What I Call...Professional! It just needs crazy delay and band pass filter effects!
A show specifically about live concerts and tours would be pretty cool. Popular, I bet.

Whenever me and my friends and family talk about the concerts we have seen, we all have that same look like we are reliving the moment. The power of a live concert creates memories that lasts forever.

Like your entry. Good luck.

No one should, look back with regret on all that they never did: the beauties they did not see, the music they did not hear, the flavors they did not taste, the aromas they did not inhale, the sensations they did not feel.
