Planned outage 05/16 around 11PM EST
Hi everyone,
Just a heads up - we're putting in a few configuration changes to the site tonight that we believe will improve the performance. You'll see a message that the site is down but it should only be for about 5-10 minutes. We should be back up and running shortly after that.

Interestingly. It was after the outage that my password no longer worked... wonder if there is a connection? Did anyone else have to reset their password?

Is there any chance an update could be put in place so that when we click on a link while entering data in a form (like the message box I'm typing into now) that it could spawn a new window? Right now, it simply launches in the same window and all the data is erased in the form without warning. This was problematic during the submission phase when clicking on help links in the Q&A entry sections erased anything that had already been typed.
I've also noticed that if I click on the "forward to a friend button" while listening to a cool post, that the page will advance while I'm gone. In several cases I've lost the ability to vote for a really good entry unless I happened to remember something distinctive about their name or title that I could go back and do a search to locate. Fyi.
Thanks for all the things that work well!
Best,
Melanie

The site doesn't seem to be tallying them anymore. The points on my profile and my points on the Top Affiliates list are different. But then again, since we don't know what the points are for, does it really matter?

Either they fix you - or nobody gets fixed.
We were out for about 5 minutes. Sorry for the inconvenience.
If you reboot any of the machines under the PRTQ, an essential thread (that holds the universe together) will break - thus causing the end of everything as we know it.

I was so close to making the top 49 for today, but the 5 min outage will prevent me from achieving my goal.
