This Week in Science Excerpted

I edited what is normally a one-hour podcast to just under 2 minutes. The file was pared down to its absolute basics to bring out the show’s fast-paced and irreverent essence. By listening to the teaser, you'll get an idea of how much energy we bring to the reporting of science.

What a blast! If I didn't know any better I'd have to say that she got the brains in the family. :)
Ever since day one the show has had a cult following that's grown exponentially (for mouth breathers like me, now there's a lot). Without TWIS the world would be void of intelligent life. Just listen to the Rob, Arnie and Dawn show. Go Dr. Kiki!

I used to look forward to TWIS every Tues. Now, I get it Tues. and Thurs. It makes my week happier just to hear other people so excited about science. It's the best science radio show that I've found to date. Kirsten and Justin rock.

Though I love Ira Flatow I've got to say Justin and Kirsten make science just pop and I would love to be able to hear them on the air and not just streaming or podcasted. These two make science fun and accessible which is what science should be. Put these two on the air nationwide and do public radio a big favor!

I love TWIS, Kirsten and Justin are very funny and lively and very informative. I'm a geneticist/molecular biologist at a major university and I really appreciate their insightful reporting, and their advocation of science. Their witty repartee is also very entertaining!

Wow! I listen to your podcast too, but I never thought that there was a way that you could make your show *pop* any more than it already does.

Silly me: condensing 1 hour into 2 minutes was like distilling already strong espresso into raw caffeine. Wow!

Best of luck,
Rob

Thanks for making this Talent Quest work.

I've been listening to TWIS ever since podcasts came to iTunes (for almost two years then) and they never fail to inform and delight in an enteraining way (aside from the occasional rant!). A great public radio program.

Dr. Kirsten and Justin do an excellent job of finding interesting science stories and guest speakers on a wide variety of science topics. Don't believe me, check out their past work.

There, wasn't that FUN (and interesting)!

The dynamic duo of Justin and Kirsten deserve to be over produced and even paid for the sciencey goodness they give so freely each week.

Been a big fan of the community radio/ podcast for years and am glad to see them pursuing a larger platform.

Science is an important subject, now more than ever (of course that's always true of science)

They have combined science news with a sparkly eyed sense of humor that just makes it a joy to listen to.

I would like them to get noticed by the big leagues, but if they don't I have a feeling they'd just keep right on bringing the science news each week.

They just seem like mythical philosopher science gypsies of some long lost age that are timelessly pursuing knowledge, setting up their booth and tent and beckoning us in, so in we go, and if we learn anything from their show?

It's all in our head

This is what public radio should be....informative, up to date and entertaining. This radio broadcast makes the world a smarter, better place. This show belongs on NPR or ABC Radio National ...in the same league as "The Science Show". I would love to see Justin and Kirsten host a show on Discovery or one of it's subsidiaries. Keep up the good work!

You are truly a kick-ass radio show. I know it may be somewhat "blasphemous" to admit, but I find you even more entertaining than Sci-Fri with Ira Flatow.
Yay!

I listen to your show on myspace and love it. Unfortunately I dont spend as much time on the computer as I do in my car. Hope your picked!!

I loved your tag line...and the whole segment! Your energy comes across and inviting. It’s as if you are saying to the listener, you are going to have an enjoyable ride. Glad you got in and best of luck!

Thanks so much for your kind comments. I am really excited to have been let in to the contest. I felt crushed when I went to upload the file and was denied access on the night of the deadline. So, now we'll see how things go...
