I loved your take on The Metra experience. My uncle used to take it down to The Mart every day for years. The same four guys sat together every day. They perused their newspapers together; read their books; worked on their laptops, and otherwise ignored each other completely. Who were they? I want to know.

you did it!
I liked how your voice sounded compassionate, straight forward, non-judgmental yet also self-reflective. You seem to have taken your experiences and looked at them from multiple angles and come out richer for it. To elevate the every day to introspective is cool. You would be interesting to listen to on NPR--best of success in the contest!

An excellent introduction, what a teaser! I do hope to hear you on the radio one day...
Hey, Julie,
Beautiful job and a lovely radio voice. I was very taken with your melodic tones and distinctive clarity. A very cozy piece, well worth a spot on Public Radio.
Well done!

Please stop by!
Great. Quality, content. Less than three minutes and I was completly taken. And the hook at the end of the piece! My eyes pooched out a bit, glassy and...just happy to have listened. Can eyes really be so happy to hear you?

my deepest sympathies that you never consumed any food at Stameys. That is a true loss for your stomach and taste buds.

i had to look up imho too.
your thoughts on daily unexpected interactions was beautifully articulated.
totally hosty.
i dig your radio voice, very welcoming and pleasant.
i scanned your profile - favorite radio station Greensboro, NC - are you from there?
I was born in Greensboro and went to UNCG. I miss Stamey's terribly.

She has a great radio voice with an insightful and interesting flow to her thoughts. Quiet confident undertones in her delivery make her a joy to listen to.
Listening to Julie made me feel like turning on the radio, pouring a cup of hot tea and curling up on the sofa with my fluffy throw in anticipation of down-to-earth albeit intellectually stimulating ruminations. Soothing and soul searching at the same time!
An interesting little piece. I enjoyed the phase-reversey stereo-mic'y sound you had going, it was a welcome change. And your point is well-taken that making and keeping eye contact has become more rare than almost getting killed by angry drivers anymore! Esp in the greater Chicago area!
This was well-read and clean, I definitely enjoyed it.

Wow, Julie, the first thing I noticed about your entry was that you somehow got it to work in stereo - yours has the most crisp, clear, stereo sound I've yet heard!
Technical matters aside, I really enjoyed your writing and storytelling - and your interesting connections as to how we make connections, or don't connect as a matter of routine. There have been a lot of entries that sound nice but don't have much content, but yours made me think quite a bit, which puts you ahead in the game, IMHO. Good luck and welcome aboard!
