This is an excellent piece, Jon. I'd almost think you had some experience as an MC.

A natural radio voice combined with extraordinary insight and intelligence. Jonathan sounds like the friend you want to tune in and listen to on weekends or late at night when you have time to relax, enjoy music and think.

You are obviously a man of deep thought and insight. I think you would do great work with NPR. And yes, you do have a great radio voice!

I whole heartedly agree with Mr. Hansen's position regarding a person being more engaging when the speak at the speed of thought. I'm more likely to listen to someone who doesn't sound like everyone else. Don't get me started on the monotone drone either. And Jon knows what defenestration means.

This is great! I like your energy, and your thoughts. You are spot on, real delivery is key to win my listenership. Good job with this entry. You deserve more comments. Really. This is one of my favorites.

Jonathan,

I couldn't agree more with you. This of course makes me biased... oh well, there's no way around the truth.

"Because I think that people sound engaging when the words coming out of their mouths are happening at the speed of thought..."

I think you're dead-on with this; nothing creates more distance between host and guest than disingenuousness. That reading-from-a-script tone, that coy i'm-having-fun chortle, that pained grin..People are at their best when you can actually "see" them thinking, when they're grapplng with something.

Nice musical pacing too, nice fade-outs. They gave the piece a snappy rhythm. Excellent work overall!
