Wow. Great presentation! Even though I'm not a parent, I'd still tune in to ParentWorld. Like "Car Talk," ParentWorld has the potential to reach far beyond its immediate subject matter and appeal to everyone. Go get 'em Jane!
Solid idea, well delivered. Makes me happy.

Please stop by!
Not a topic of interest for me, yet your voice is captivating, and you make the uninteresting (to me) sound interesting. Good luck.
Your voice does sparkle. I would like you to read my phone book sometime. I brought it home from a trip to Hong Kong. I know only your voice could do it justice.
Honest, Jane. You good. Me no good.
But thanks for tossing a bone my way nonetheless!
Goodluck!
(And if you ever have the chance, perhaps I could get you to read a couple paragraphs from Proust's Remembrance of Things Past for me? Thanks.)
your pal (and parent),
Pat
I'm not a parent, but your upbeat presentation would make me listen. Delightful, sparkling voice. Jill
I came across another entry describing a similar show, but yours is infinitely better done. You have much greater "hostiness." Congrats on an excellent entry.

Good luck to you!
and a host. Very impressive.
I think I'm toast, but please listen anyway.
This parenting topic interests many people across the country and I don't think it's covered often on public radio. Jane Gabbert's upbeat voice and her warm on-air manner are very welcoming to listeners. Her skill in thinking and speaking without a script are remarkable. She manages to pull listeners in and include them. A call-in portion would be a natural for this host. I think she could handle people from all walks of life and from all areas of the country with an open mind and a validating voice.
Thank you, Jane, for preparing to ground people who might be carried away by the current tide of perfectionist (and projectionist) parenting, so endemic to certain socioeconomic segments of the nation. Of course parents (and grandparents, stepparents, godparents, aunts and uncles, teachers, etc.) want to "get it right." Nice to know a smart, savvy woman is here to help us raise kids and stay sane.
Information and laughs! What a great idea to explore the fabulousness and foibles of parenting. Someone should have thought of this a long time ago. I can think of at least 100 mothers who would love to hear this show.
Sounds like a topic that a lot of people could latch on to!
Check me out and let me know what you think! All opinions welcome!

Thanks! Christopher.
It is really all about the kids and you nailed it. I would definatley tune into you and your show. Hell, I'd help you with it seein' as we have similar ideas and ambitions. You anywhere near Washington State?

Whatever you vividly imagine, earnestly desire and enthusiastically act upon must inevitably come to pass.
The topics are endless! Childhood development, vaccines, nutrition, education, family dynamics...every parent and child has issues. Let's give them an outlet to the experts! Plus there's so much room for humor! Every parent has a great story. JG
What a great show! When I can sign up for the podcast!

I know of nothing like this. It seems like such a good idea since so many people deal with these issues. I'm a huge NPR listener and think this would be a big upgrade from some of the repetitive political pundits that NPR seems to love.
Jane, Your voice is sooo easy to listen to and I can feel your good energy across the waves. Good luck to you as the new voice of Public Radio!
The one thing we need to know more about--parenting--and often little attention is paid. Great Idea for a show!
Excellent demo from a sublime actress and a consumate mother. I'l make sure to listen to your show. Richard Kaplan
I don't have kids, but I always have good advice. I think the concept is wonderful, and way over-due! Keep up the good work. Surely there is intelligent life out there that would grab up this show. The need is pretty overwhelming - just walk through a grocery store and observe behaviors.
Been waiting for a show like this for a long time. Jane, what a great concept. Looking forward to listening!
Great entry!!!

Keep on rockin' in the free world.
Great subject matter, enjoyable presentation. Just great all around!
Best of luck to you!!
Dear amanitapavlova! Thanks for your positive review. Really appreciate it.

I don't have kids either, but I really like your idea for a show! There's so much you could do with it and you seem to have a handle on good production value, musical segues, etc. Way to go!

Heh Julie! Thanks for your comments! I'm trying to listen to you, but my computer is "buffering" forever! Gotta fix that! Will vote for you as soon as I get it fixed. Good luck! JG

You know, I don't have kids, but I would listen to this. It reminded me, in delivery and tone, of Lynne Rossetto Casper's The Splendid Table (American Public Media). I don't cook elaborate meals often, but I still enjoy that show. Most media designed for parents doesn't interest me, so good job on appealing to a wider audience.

Good voice, but the presentation and delivery was a little too slick for my taste. Nice range of guests but the depth seemed lacking.
