Music: The Gospel of Thomas by Joseph Gentry Stephens (used with the composer’s permission).

“I” collage #1

“I” Collage #2

Opening music fades out, Jim Pearson’s/ursabear’s Requiem for Syd Barrett fades in.

Ursabear’s music fades, an Adobe Audition “Loopology” sample enters.

Drums enter – another Loopology sample.

    Emily McCord (the judges enter)

  • Rich Meitin (deep doo doo)

Another Loopology sample, I call it “The Guitar of Disappointment”.

A wistful sample from Loopology enters.

Wistful sample fades, Biber’s Pasacaglia for solo violin enters. It’s played by Bay Area baroque violinist David Wilson and is from a recording I made at a concert given in Davidson, NC in May, 2007. Used with David Wilson’s permission.

Silence.

  • Stephi (sorry, where were we)

“I” collage #3

Bird song from kestrel’s entry.

Music fades into pianist Gregory McCallum’s performance of Duke Ellington’s Reflections. Used with the pianist’s permission.

Music ends.

I just listened to the whole thing, yet again, and followed along. That was a really good time. Thanks again, Jennifer. And thanks to everyone else who participated. Everything matters!

Thank you, Theresa. It is kind of fun to see who contributed what, isn't it? You should have seen the crazy collage on my computer screen while this was in production. There was something kind of beautiful about all those slivers of audio relating to each other in time and space.

But it's not here. Ummm... there was a thanks for doing this, a thanks for helping me discover some additional people to listen to, and a thanks for ending the mystery of whether I was an "I" or not - apparently not.

Thanks again - such a great thing. My family & honey enjoyed your mash up as much as any of the winning entries.

Interesting thing to ponder. Though not an "I" in the mashup you are certainly still an I, right?

Thanks, Deborah. I'm glad this list led you to listen to other entries. May it lead someone to yours, full of pluck and smarts as it is.

We are not amused.

or perhaps a one...

One does not respond to such trivial questions.

I'm off to practice my royal wave.

(And Jennifer - check out the hilarious YouTube link I put up on Al's latest blog entry - it'll make you laugh).

The works are awesome (visual art and mashup). The mapping list took a long time, too, I'd wager.

Thank you so very much for this.

It means the world to me.

Together we become something beautifully (haunting) cathartic, important, and fun! Thanks for being the catalyst, Jennifer. You make great memories (and winners) of us all!
