I've just spent the day with my grand-toddler who has a cold and a seriously boogered nose/face/hands/clothing/bathwater. I could easily fill two minutes with stories and observations - but maybe you'd have to have been there yourself…

I voted for commercial shrimping because I used to live on the south Texas coast and while the shrimp themselves are not that exciting, although quite excitable, the shrimpers who go out for months at a time and the shrimper girls who wait for them in the shrimper bars in Aransas Pass are a colorful lot.

I voted for duckie hinders. Ducks are kinda gross if ya ask me and the idea of taking a paste o' duckie hinders and smearin' it on a cracker just doesn't fly. Yuk, duck.

Now, remember, I am an open minded individual. Usually open to trying a lot of different foods but not duck, thanks. Ever since I lived in northern Wisconsin - Wausau, to be exact. They had a large Hmong society there transplanted from Vietnam. One day the big news story was "Where's The Ducks?". Evidently a Hmong family decided that the ducks that were on the river downtown could be their dindin. Bigger yuk, river duck.

would be so popular? I guess aside from the earn a ton for a summer of heavy labor angle, there's the Bubba Gump angle, the delicious Trader Joes end product angle, the do Aussies really throw them on the barbie angle, the world is being overfished angle, the more related to a spider than a fish angle... just so many directions the riff could take.

on the subject of great Malaysian literature. I could go on for a long time about how much I DON'T know. Perhaps Komal could add a literature segment to her show and help fix that.
