Welcome "11-pointers"!

Definition: "11-pointers" are those people who join PRTQ, vote for their one contestant (getting 10 points), and post one comment (getting 1 point) for their chosen person. Usually, it is a very positive comment.

I'm writing this, my first forum topic, because I'd like to welcome the 11-pointers and ask them to please consider getting some more points.

In particular, this contest isn't like American Idol: you help your chosen candidate more by giving poor votes (1 or 2) to the other contestants because it cancels out high votes given to that contestant (4 or 5) from others. Or at least that's how it seemed to be in the first round of voting. Please read on.

Now, I don't want you to do that, though I certainly can't do anything to prevent it.

But I'm letting you know how voting works because I'd like as many people as possible to participate fully. It's my hope that you not only vote for the other 9 entries (beyond your favorite contestant), but listen to them, first.

Please listen and vote on all the entries because, in the end, there are 3 winners, not just 1.

Now, depending on how this goes, it might end up that we who have all been participating for awhile start referring to those of you who vote/comment positively for your one contestant and negatively for the other 9 contestants as 101-pointers (or 110-pointers if you leave comments with each vote). That may be what happens as a result of making this post (and we'll never know -- though PRTQ will -- because your votes aren't public).

But I hope I've persuaded you that you can vote -- and vote positively -- for more than just your favorite contestant.

Like all worthwhile knowledge, this knowledge about voting may be used for good and evil (does this remind you of the Genesis?). But it seems to me that we should all be making every choice as informed as possible (even if this post makes my role in the Garden of Eden analogous to that of the snake).

(Personally, I don't think it does, because there's been no one telling you not to eat from PRTQ's Tree of Knowledge... but you decide for yourself.)

Knowledge for the People = Power to the People,
Robert Frederick

first of all an 11 pointer will never read this..because their logged on only long enough to vote and leave an essay on how wonderful thier favorite entry was and then they bounce....a lot of 11 pointers have evolved into 22 pointers....hence round 2?..I doubt they will vote for other entries....but if they did, bet they would score them low.
its probably best they vote for just 1.

... but my hope -- however small -- is that everyone will listen and vote for at least 3 entries because there will be 3 overall winners.

Last day to vote for Round 2!
