A Twist at the End - Past Contestants Judge Final Round
As we designed the Quest, we wanted to find ways to bring interesting twists into the competition. Some of the best ideas came from TV reality shows.
In this final round of voting, we brought past contestants "back to the island" to help us pick the final 3 winners.
Earlier this week, Bee Jellyfish, Carrie Kaufman, Chuck Mertz, and Komal Trivedi met by conference call to vote on their top three entries. Their votes were combined with the votes of the main judges when we met earlier this week.
Like all of our judging calls, the conversation was intense, and it was hard to narrow the field. All four of our past contestants made great comments and gave the judges lots to think about. Huge thanks to them for their time, their ears, and their gracious support of the final Questers.
Next week, we'll combine your votes (you have voted right?) with the judges picks and announce our 3 winners next Wednesday night, the 26th.
Remember, the public vote (that's you) picks one of the three finalists - you decide who stays on the island and goes on to make brilliant radio.
Voting closes Sunday night at 11:59pm ET.
I don't believe that they would judge based on personal vendetta. They know talent when they see it. I am sure it will all play out just fine.
Chill....

I like this contest. It does America a great service by going out to the masses and finding new talent.
This is not TV though. TV needs ratings and will use gimmicks to pump up the interest. They have commercials that broadcast the changes in strategy to amp up the drama.
Does this contest need a rating boost? Will that ratings boost come from a twist that occurs at the end? No one knows about the twist. It's the end of the contest. It won't bring in more votes. It's a web site, not a TV channel.
On Survivor, the contestants all have to work together and maintain personal relationships with each other. The way you behave with other contestants matters. It's part of the game. Should that matter here? It has not until now.
I admit it does give a larger voice to the people who entered the contest. But those people were eliminated. Why? Because you felt they did not make the cut. But now you are willing to give those people a voice in the FINALS!
What I am worried is that the new Contestant Judges will vote on personal likes and dislikes.
Will they be resentful of contestants whose followers voted against them?
Does this get you a better host at the end?
How?
Maybe some responses from the new judges will appease me. I can't believe that it comes down to this.
