Called to action

Radio isn't just for your mind. Get off the coach and put what you've learned into action. This piece raises the possibility that radio can be made to inspire listeners of all ages to get outside and engage themselves in an active lifestyle.

You've got great chops.
There's so much to do in the outdoors, so little time.
I got a kick out of your favorite sound, of going up El Cap.

This was a well-done piece, good interviews, nice edits. You held the whole thing together quite well. Overall, a great piece, and an interesting topic for a program, or at the very least a segment.
Definitely something I would listen to.
Good luck to you!

I'd definitely tune in. Just a thought on your comment on exploring the heights and the depths of physical being. What about a segment that explores what it takes to persist when your life is turned 180 degrees by illness and you know you can be cured but you can't find a doctor with the knowledge or willingness to help?

Great topics and a pleasant voice. This is something NPR has been lacking for far too long. With all the emphasis on "Green this, Green that" in the past year, the outdoor community and lifestyle have been ignored. Yet these people are more into the environment, without being enviro-whackos, than any other group. James can do a lot of good by bringing these voices to the larger world.

This has fantastic potential for any number of series - from health aspects, personalities, motivations, and a variety of stories on places. Exellent work and I hope to hear more of you on NPR!

James has a clear voice and topic to include a special creativity! Hearing the climbers calling commands on belay, climbing etc. made me feel that much closer to what was taking place and reminded me how much I love that activity (I was ready to tie in with them!). I think seeing, hearing and reading about all these beautiful and fun things in life will help people wake up to life beyond the TV! Lightning Layne

Great topic. I am inspired by others who accomplish things they and ( and many others) might have considered beyond the realm of possibility. The individuals mentioned sound inspirational and most interesting.
Technicall James Mills has a superb voice for radio, easy to understand and easy to listen to.
Overall, a superb job.

Awesome job, I would love to learn more and welcome the hand off the couch, although I am not a couch potato. This would be a great program for a workout. The good clear voice also helps.

as a person who spends over an hour a day outdoors listening to various NPR podcasts, I would love a program on NPR that brings the outdoors to others...super smooth sound with this guy...hire him!

Called to action sounds like a great program to teach people about active lifestyles. With the high numbers of obese people in America we need this program as motivation to get off the couch.
