Revisiting the 9th Ward

This is two minutes taken from my podcast series on the gulf coast. In April 2007 I travelled from New Orleans to Florida, visiting communities. This program focused on St. Mary's school in the 9th ward and the volunteers who come to help out.

Yea, Mark
You had two minutes. So you stepped up to the plate and hoped we would fill in the finishing pitches which we could not see--hear!. Good job. It gives us some idea of where you stand, your interests, your values, and what we might look forward to if you hosted a show here on NPR
Good luck
Vern

Very impressive journalism.
You have a great voice and deserve a good
tech for support.

Best of luck,

Sallyfranz

My family is from New Orleans, born and raised. If you only have two minutes, go find people you don't "know."
Very outside looking in...

Mark has pretty good presence in front of the mic and sounds comfortable asking questions - that's good. But the tape is pretty banal. Who is this girl? Why am I listening to her? Is she somehow representative of the 9th ward? If you only have 2 minutes, really make them count! But glad you've thrown your hat in the ring...

totally understood. But the thing.. 2 minutes cannot possibly explain or properly capture what I do and why it is important. 2 minutes is just 2 minutes.. it haunts me to no end.. that I could only submit 2 minutes.

This is the problem with the world... 2 minute judgements.
