Problems Uploading MP3
Well, I recorded a 2 minute radio clip in MP3 format. Actually it was clocked in at 1:59 seconds. I cut it short so that it would not have any chance of going over.
The problem is that I must be using a Martian timer, as the one on this site said I was ONE second OVER 2 minutes.
Now I have to go in and re-do the whole thing over again.
My advice? Make a recording that is 1 minute and 50 seconds, and not much more... Otherwise, you run the risk of running into the same problem I did.
A wonderful audio engineer recorded my audio today (naturally, last minute) and it comes in with 160 kpbs instead of 128. Any conversion possibilities in the next 45 minutes?
When I converted my audio file to an MP3 and submitted it, only half of it was there! I don't know how to fix it! Help? Can I call someone?

Ah, yes, welcome to the wonderful world of Public Radio, where every second counts.
A couple other suggestions, before you chuck a chunk:
1) Try shaving just a second or two off of your mp3 w/ iTunes (FREE). You can set the preferred stop time and then convert your original file to a shorter length.
2) A trick that radio monkeys have used for years is the fading music bed. By putting a (fair use or licensed) music bed under your outro, you can stretch it or cut it as much as you need to hit your desired mark, without an abrupt ending. You'll notice that many NPR shows utilize this to hit top-of-the-hour news, as everything is timed to the second.

Did you cut the tails off? I can fix it if you email me the audio to rockmewoody@aol.com
