Cooking with Sam n' Ella - Radio with a Funny Flavor

Submitted by TalentQuestWinner on April 30, 2007 - 7:50pm. ::

Humorous and informative banter about food, cooking, travel, and beverages. Ella likens a recipe to a story and considers it her duty to make sure Sam doesn’t get hurt. Sam specializes in Guerrilla cooking and also believes that recipes are a story, but he typically only remembers the last line.

lol very funny and great recipes too. I’d love to get in my kitchen right now and try some but my oven needs new appliance parts and they are taking my husband ages to find the right ones.

The turkey in the middle is not a turkey at all. This is a super-tasty entry I think I'd enjoy listening to. Good luck!

What Lucy and Desi were to TV Sam n' Ella are to radio! Haven't been to a fast food joint since I've been listening to them. Can grill a salmon and toss a mean salad now!

This was a really fun little promo for what you could do! I really enjoyed the speed, the wit, and the opposing food view points, a little like a food Siskel & Ebert, maybe? I think this has great potential, I'd love to hear more of what you guys can do.
Great entry, I give it a great score! Try mine?

There's great chemistry and sounds like you have a great knowledge of food and the best in the food category. My only problem (and this is just me) is I don't see food tips as an audio mainstay. I found the kitchen to be more visual on how to cook and it suppose to look like. For Car Talk, at least they discuss problems and know the answer of it and tell the listneres quickly. I hope the format is similar to Car Talk that you guide your listeners and give quick food tips. I thought about it and I'll give you another shot since there is talent and cohesion, but to me, this is a tough sell.

Please try a whole show...You're right on with your comments and we DO NOT want to be that either. We're not what you're worried about - I Guarantee. It's fast paced and pulls the listener forward with great interest, fun..and, yes, some great food tune sprinkled in. (we don't do call-in yet, just due to the small "Caller Pool" for the areas we serve)

We're on...

Cookin' with Sam N Ella is a delicious show. From soup to nuts, the best thing I've heard since they invented sliced bread.

Love the repartee between this cute couple. When are they coming to NPR?

The kitchen and I aren't on the best of terms. I need you two! You both sound wonderful behind the mic. Y'all are funny too!!!!

We may not be exactly what what they're looking for in terms of "Hosts", but we think we have a fun show and we know we could do great stuff for fundraisers, commentaries, and "Special Reports"

Thanks for the review, it means a lot to us.

Great show, y'all--love the sense of humor. And the quite cookable recipes. And the guerilla approach to cooking, but without the fire department.

You guys put the Cool in Culinary. Your show is a simmering light on the mostly bland menu of North American media. Definately baste in show!

The name Ecoli Twins was taken...so we went with Sam n' Ella (lots of free publicity due to chicken and peanut butter - hey, as long as they spell it right)

I hope folks realize that our user name is meant tongue in cheek. (beef tongue and veal cheek of course)
