Clarification on music

Hi, I've checked the rules and the forums, and I want to clarify something about use of music. If I'm using music written by someone else but played by someone I know, is that okay for the contest? In context, listeners will know who wrote the music, many will know the song, and the lyrics are a satirical version of the song that I wrote myself. Thoughts?

...but I think parodies are protected by free speech and not subject to copyright laws.

well there has been debate against debate on this subject for weeks now...and no one has a clear cut answer to the problem...most agree to just not take a chance and leave the music out..I say go ahead if you want to, and use it..what really are the odd's that someone will track you down "here" of all places and take you to court for copyright infringment?? and if they did- it would be good publicity for you! : )
