This made me giggle! I like the conversation, and I've always dug Charles Laughton (Hobson's Choice, The Paradine Case, oh yeaaah).
Nice entry, great humor! Good luck to you!

You are the new Zod.

I really enjoyed eavesdropping on your conversation with your grandmother.

Thanks.

I must admit that I didn't understand what was going on for most of the time, but that was half the fun of it! Your delivery was great. I was laughing out of sheer confusion. I mean that in the best way.

... with my Aunt Lil (who's turning 99 next month and still lives on her own! I interviewed her a couple years ago for a family history project.)

We don't talk enough with our elders. (Well, you and *I* do - and Elizabeth - but I'm referring to those OTHER parts of the Big We out there.)

Our elders have such wonderful stories to tell us, if only Big We'd stop and ask and LISTEN!

Good job! Good luck!

I demand that you and your grandmother start a podcast immediately! This was entirely too perfect ... and no better way to see the great personality you pack! Nice job; I just hope Ruth is getting half of your winnings. :-D

Charles Laughton was a true Brechtian -- very much like Scott and his Grams -- BRAVO!

Submitted by tracyannwilliams on May 1, 2007 - 10:52pm.

Grandmama is a sharp, sassy cookie. And, Scott is no slouch. Perhaps, we should kneel before both?

Submitted by Elizabeth Ziegler on May 1, 2007 - 10:41am.

This was cute, especially the last part, "Grandmother, of course, OF COURSE, I kneel..." My entry also includes a clip of my grandma. Check it out, if ya' feel like it, at: http://www.publicradioquest.com/audio/user/1536

Your voice is like Turkish Delight. A fictitious, insatiable dessert. Congratulations.

Submitted by Elizabeth Ziegler on May 1, 2007 - 10:46am.

So, turns out Turkish Delight isn't fictitious after all. I know, cuz I looked it up on Wikipedia once. Who knew?

Submitted by Pete Moore on May 2, 2007 - 8:10am.

Fictitiously insatiable, then? Certainly you can't have unlimited amounts of it! Unlike Scott's voice. Is Scott's voice on Wikipedia?

Mr Statland has quite a way with words, and it's special to hear him talking with his Granny. Keep up the good work, Sir!
