Real Health Problems in Uncertain

Submitted by Bk Turning on May 1, 2007 - 3:45pm. ::

Here's a voice sample. I've been doing comedy for years with a troupe. But as a registered nurse with interests in food as medicine, anti-aging, maternity, hospice, etc. I've got ideas for combining my hostiness with useful tips for listeners AND my sense of fun.

2 minutes of fun. And the jean deformity is not contained to just Uncertain TX

Thank you for checking my post. Regarding your post, and the issues you raise: I have stories about the health care system, from my perspective as a professional, and from the perspective of a patient.
For all who care about current healthcare delivery system as a topic, start here: GET a copy of your health care record ! See what irrelevant and irreverent comments are made about YOU!

Wow, I don't know if you actually recorded candid sound for that, or if it was staged. I really can't tell, but at the same time, it doesn't matter. You use some great metaphors, and your editing skills are good as well. You also have a voice that appears to be made for public radio. This was a strange story, but an intriguing one and I enjoyed it. Best of luck to you!

That was wonderful and surreal and, yes, even a tad creepy. It was a treat for my earballs.
Thanks!

So many things to enjoy - the splendiferousness of your voice, the very odd content delivered in an ironically straightforward manner, the quirky idea of Uncertain, and that disconcerting zither strum - love that little detail!

But could you give up your sense of humor just to entertain us with a straight read of the news, if that were the role that NPR had in mind for you?

Really, you could read knitting patterns aloud (knit one, purl one, slip stitch, repeat to end of row) and we would all roll on the floor in a state of constant bliss

I enjoyed your segment as much as I enjoy your comments! I hope to see you in round 2 !

P.S.

In fact, I used to co-host, interview, deliver news and do traffic~ then I'd finally get out of bed in the morning.

I knew all ready that you have the perfect voice BK, whether in Uncertain, Texas, or in National Public Radio. ;-) It was wonderful to hear your voice again as I listened to your entry. I only hope I can someday achieve the same smoothness in my speaking as you have in yours. :-)

Yes, let us talk podcasting soon!

Good luck- here's to round 2! May we BOTH get there!

Thank you Jimmy for the note. It's alway a triumph when something "out of the ordinary" is understood.

I think I know this place. But then my ears are oddly located, too.

Five stars and don't ask me to explain why...

Dear *n*,

It's a surreal place, Uncertain. And I've just tried to post a bit of Texas, for my friends.

Hard to say if this is "talk" or "entertainment", but at least it might be thought of as a lesson in anatomy!

Best to you,

But hostiness, I don't have much of a clue as to your hostiness...

Awfully nice voice though.

Thank you, Steve, for reviewing the post, and for your compliment. I was encouraged to post this section of an interview as a sample of environmental concerns as it relates to healthcare... and the dash of fun.

Best,
