It was a lot of fun interviewing these two talented artists. When I was choosing my audio clip, I thought what Cynthia had to say might be interesting and a little unusual. And Christy has such great energy. I am glad it captured your attention and you stayed with us during this short clip...

Thanks for taking the time to vote and leaving a comment.

You have an easy, relaxed style and clearly know how to put a guest at ease. However, I wish the piece had told us a little bit more about you ... maybe we'll find out in Round II? Good luck!

Your style lends itself to allowing guests to speak and express their ideas rather structuring an interview with your own ideas at the forefront.

I appreciate this level of detachment, as it often opens up doors in conversation that you never knew existed.

keep up the good work.

Submitted by Khotan Shahbazi... on May 24, 2007 - 9:51am.

Glad you liked the approach. Given the short space we had to work with, it was hard to decide what approach to take. I thought that a sample interview would showcase my interviewing style.

I am really glad to see that the joy and style came through and you picked-up on it, even though it may not have been as professionally produced as other clips.

Thanks for taking the time to vote and to post a note.

I've been listening to many entries (randomly, through the "Vote" button), and find yours unique. There's something unaffected about your voice and delivery that is appealing.

I would be interested in your response to my entry as well, if you have an opportunity: http://www.publicradioquest.com/audio/user/8098

This, to me, is the best stuff: Whether or not it is actually spontaneous, it sounds spontaneous, sincere, and warm. Terrific work.

I recently had the privilege of being interviewed by Khotan and I can say she made me feel at home! She was genuinely interested, very present, listened with great attention and made further questions/great comments based on my responses. Her voice is warm, clear, engaging, and her laughter is delightful! I love listening to her. Khotan, thanks so much! I live in Central Texas, and I'm originally from Mexico.

Khotan's voice, delivery and subject matter are way up there in the realm of NPR quality! I love the clear, musical quality of her voice. Her deliver is well metered, not rushed, not slow, just perfect. And the subject matter is a favorite of mine. I'd definitely listen to her shows.

I am from Austin, Texas, and I adore hearing Khotan's voice on the radio. She is genuine, fun, friendly, and engages her guests completely, creating an entertaining and enjoyable listening experience. This was clear in the demo, as she was able to draw out interesting and honest responses from both of the interviewees with her warm and welcoming personality.

Khotan also has one of the most melodious and beautiful voices I've ever heard. She is clear, easy to understand, and wonderful to listen to.

I would love to be able to listen to Khotan more often - she is amazing!
