The Present State of the Future
Those that saw the last season of The Wire (which you should) know how compelling and eye-opening kids can be on TV - so why not on the radio? As long as we are working to make the world a better place for them, maybe we should stop and see if they have any recommendations.
I'm 40 something and I'm constantly wondering what the teens and 20 something's are thinking about school, politics, dating, parents, jobs, technology, the future, etc. And, I don't have kids and I'm still interested to learn through their eyes. Great topic, nice voice and choice of music -- it all works for me. Good luck.
I wish I found you earlier on in this contest. This is fantastic. It is a really stellar production, highlighting great writing, a friendly personality and a solid topic -- hope for the future. Interviewing kids is usually eye-opening. And this entry captures some of that fresh perspective. I really wish you luck in this. Even if you aren't given shot to pitch this show to the CPB, I hope you continue with this idea. I have a feeling you'd do a super job.

This is one of the best pieces I've heard in the contest. Very thoughtful and open-ended in such a way it could be a perfect contrast from (or complement to) MTV-style youth programming. Good luck!
The backing music was a very clever touch. Its lack of clarity would have hurt you if it hadn't been for your explanation of its origins - the reasoning actually brought you up a few notches.
Your thoughtful voice is a plus, but don't let your meaning be lost in a quick stutter, stumble, or slur. (I don't say this as one who could do better than you; I most certainly could not... It's simply advice on the importance first impressions.)
Radio for thoughtful teenagers really doesn't exist. There's some stuff that adults think teens should listen to, but teens and kids on these shows (typically local shows) sound ill at ease and out of their element - probably because they're talking about topics adults tell them to talk about.
I'd love to see you be able to carry this idea further. I'd love to see teens and kids really engaged in the subject because they have the say.
You've got a great voice for this work, and a casual manner that isn't forced. It sounds authentic, which is what it's all about. Empowering teens to create their own content will make for better media in the future, I'm sure of that.

Your entry sounds like it was already aired on NPR. You've got it dialed in. Nice.

I don't think any of my generation actually *listened* to the lyrics of disco music - and even if we did were we harmed by "do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight"?
Okay. 'Nuff said. We are all impressionable. Some of us still are.
Good job! Good music! Good storytelling! Good luck!

My god man... That was good stuff.
I sincerely think you've got a good shot. There's a little hesitancy in your voice still, but it's a solid idea and the content was truly well done.
Good luck.

You have a nice radio "presence," and a good idea here. Good luck. (Maybe lowering the level of the music just a tad when you were talking would've helped -- although it's a nice addition for sure.)
Very personable, loved the concept. I have a couple of ideas that would mesh well with this genre. If we break next round, let's chat, shall we? If not, it may be moot. Great work, good luck.
O.K. you're in the running now... so, fill out your bio, and switch on your contact option, so the judges know you are for real.
