Zip Zap Rap!

My friend and I found an MP3 of an old, hilariously awful Reagan's War-on-Drugs rap and took a chance to introduce it, explaining its context and the thrills of forgotten (for a good reason) cultural touchstones.

Nice job of the two of you interacting, kept my attention, and I kept watching the minutes run down, expecting to hear Devastating Dave.
Disappointing!
Great voices, nice pace, but where is DAVE?!
Good luck

I listened to this twice. I like it lots. I think this may be my favorite, well at least top 5, music submissions in this contest. I really like your style - interesting, laid back, funny. And, I even looked up Devastating Dave. Wow. It is a bad album cover. Good job and good luck!

Really nicely done -- you've got a smart, funny sensibility about both the music and its cultural context. Good job!

Wow, that made me chuckle. I can almost dimly recall this on TV/radio...I mean I am no Reagan apologist, but at least someone in his cabinet was trying! Perhaps GDub could do something similar? Maybe a Screamo track? Or would I just love to see him in eyeliner?

is most of commercial rap is just what you explained in this piece...characters/imagery promoted and exploited by middle-aged white males, however they're in executive suites versus political cirlces in DC.
This type of attempt at Hip Hop is why Nas has declared it dead.

I call it W-w-whi--i-ck Whack Rap.
Good luck to you.

Well done, Mr. Big Foist. I found this entry really entertaining. If only you had more than 2 minutes...I would've loved to have heard a little bit of Devastating Dave!

Best of luck...

Nice piece - probably the most important thing to say is that I wanted to hear THE REST OF IT.
