Dr. Ginger Campbell talks about science

This starts out with a brief intro The Brain Science Podcast. Then I tell why I would make a good NPR host. My style is direct and to the point. You can find my podcasts at http://virginiacampbellmd.com.

Dr. Campbell is thoughtful, patient and deliberate in selecting ways to simplify and clarify explanations about the brain and all the stuff connected to it.

As with many colorful journeys, repetition strengthens images and helps to set down deeper roots. I've reprogrammed my iPod shuffle with podcasts and my workouts are twice as productive.

The size of my brain has even increased!

She's a really easy listen for a subject that can scare off even the most curious.

Dr. Campbell has a remarkable talent to integrate vast amounts of complex data and distill it all down into digestible meals (and delicious ones, they are!) for both the neophytes and the experts. Her interviews in particular display clear communication skills, rapport with her interviewees, and the ability to elicit and facilitate optimally clear and highly relevant information. She deserves the widest possible audience.

Hey, I'VE got a brain! I just went and subscribed to the podcast, I love this idea and where you'd like to go with it! I'm curious to see what you do over several episodes.
Intriguing concept, the prospect of interviews with scientists and some good writing. Full marks!
Good luck. Try mine, its about the brain as well!

Although my entry is just shtick, I'd also like to do a science show. I'd happily listen to yours. You've gained a podcast listener.

I have no professional science qualifications but I do love reading up on science.
I've been listening to these podcasts and they certainly satisfy my curiosity and encourage me to find out more.

I enjoyed your clip. It seems like you'd make science and medicine very accessible which can be a challenge. There's a lot to learn and I think I'd enjoy having you as my Teacher. Good luck!

Check me out if you'd like.

I am a big fan of her Books and Brain Science podcasts, both are interesting and accessible. I would certainly follow her to NPR.

I am a big fan of NPR and listen to your broadcasts through my computer (I live in Kauai and don't get good radio reception or coverage).
Dr. Campbell does an incredible job of explaining things for the those of us who do not have a scientific background. There is very little available on the radio or TV about the topics she discusses. She has a pleasant voice which makes her easy to listen to.
I am afraid I am becoming addicted to her programs. Or does that just mean I am a huge fan of hers :-)
Given the chance I think Dr. Campbell would create a large listener following.

The field of cognitive science is very topical and growing daily. There's little coverage about it on NPR. (unlike the great Australian radio programme, All in the Mind).

I have a long drive to work and listening to the Brain Science Podcast show is both entertaining & educational. One thing I especially like, besides the topic, is Ginger's voice -- the slow voice (to this New Englander, anyway) is *very* helpful as I follow what she's saying. And she explains things really well!

I hope you'll give her show serious consideration.

Like a kid waiting for Christmas I check my itunes every week for a new podcast from Dr. Campbell. I had lately been reading about discoveries in the field of brain science so when I received an ipod as a gift I checked out several podcasts in related topics before settling onto her program.

Her choice of topics, her interviewing style and her plain spoken way of explaining innovations in neuroscience are complimented by her ability to draw larger inferences from the material (e.g. to topics in epistemology as well as general philosophy not to mention ye olde nature/nuture debate). I guess the reason why she shows greatest potential as an NPR host is that she "never talks down the audience" rather by expecting us to keep up with her - she stretches our minds. Seriously, I am a big, big fan of Dr. Campbell and NPR - I think she would have a big impact in a larger forum.

I can say from a personal standpoint that Dr. Ginger Campbell would make a great radio speaker. I have worked beside her in the ER for over 6 years and I know what a wonderful healer and teacher she is. She has a knack for aleviating the fears of pts and explaining to them what is going on with them. I would love to get to see her do this on a more large scale basis and a radio show would be a wonderful medium for her.
From a nursing prespective, many times Doctor's come in and give the basics to a pt and rush right out, leaving the nurses to answer all their questions, when they really want to hear the answers from the Dr, but with Dr. Campbell this is not the case.

In our society today, ppl are bombarded with lots of information and need a place to get answers and sort out what they hear and read. A radio program would be a wonderful place to get those answers. Dr. Campbell would offer an invaluable service.
