That was an interesting two minutes. You really made me want to hear more about what your show might be like. Nice voice, your two minutes format was different too. Good Luck!

Toney
Hi Toney, Thanks for listening. I loved your favorite sound memory, making your mother laugh when you were a child. My favorite sound memory isn't even my own. A guy I knew, whose mother died, said his favorite memory of her was falling asleep to the sound of her laughter. I knew if I ever had kids, that's what I'd want the most for them. Thanks again, Maureen
Maureen,
This was so much fun to listen to. You are so well spoken and interesting. A show with you would be the kind of show that people would set their clocks to.
Your smile comes through!
Maureen has the most innovative ideas! I love to listen to her voice! She makes others laugh and smile. She has a way of making whatever you say sound like the greatest idea ever. Maureen is witty. She is such a good listener. She is insightful. This is demonstrated in the way she uses a great line from a funny movie, thinks how it could be used to benefit her listeners, adds just the right twist to fit the situation, and sells herself! Way to go Maureen!
Maureen Anderson is some kind of radio goddess. I've been a huge fan for years and she has interveiwed me as well. She is such a joy and is making a wonderful contribution with her radio program and she has a voice and a heart to love!
Maureen would be an asset! She's got my vote over and over!
Thanks, Joan! If people could hear your voice--and given how successful you are, many of them have--they'd know why your comments mean so much. Thanks again! Maureen
Maureen sounds like the kind of person I would like to call up and talk with on the phone. Listening to her on the radio would be the next best thing! It's refreshing to hear someone who still believes in the art of conversation...a nice change from most broadcasters who are only interested in hearing their own voice!
I enjoyed Maureen's brief presentation. I guess I never told her this but several years ago she interviewed me on Criminal Justice Issues on her talk show broadcasted from St. Paul, Minnesota. What I especially liked was her targeted questions, he ability to listen and to respond with the same emotional intensity with which I spoke. I perceived this in her short piece for this contest.
I remember interviewing you, Bernie! I enjoyed the conversation too. Thanks for weighing in. Maureen
Maureen Anderson has one of those voices we have all been hearing, alas, only occasionally over the years. To me it embodies the best of the best of friends. Strong. Interested. Intelligent. Warm. Focused. Complete. In fact, the only thing Maureen's voice ever leaves one wishing for were more of it. And that's the truth!
It was the wrap up that did it for me...
Usually, when I hear people makes statements about how they deserve a position, I almost always (personally) hear a thread of hubris and facetiousness on their part; almost has if they are psyching themselves up, even though deep inside they don't believe it themselves.
Not so with your wrap-up, Maureen. You spoke the plain, basic truth, and that is -all- I heard. That is rare and unique, especially in a world where 'speaking with a forked tongue' is considered an important skill, rather than the immorality that it should be.
I look forward to seeing you in the next round.

It's true, the voice and tone reflects your personality and its heard. I think you got that down, but if you go to the next round, you really have to think what you want to as a format. Yes, great conversation is wonderful, but how do you want to set this up? That's the question you must answer.
Hi! Thanks for listening. You make a good point. The contest administrators compared this to dating, so in that spirit I saved a little for the next round. Maureen
This is the first one I've heard that really turns the format around--the host, interviewed, and still sounding snazzily hosty. It's revelatory, well produced and very very promising.

Maureen,
You must have just submitted this moments ago -- I'm pleased to be the first (of probably several) to tell you how much I enjoyed your submission. You sum up so well what it takes to be a good interviewer -- really listening and trying to put the rest aside. Great "wrap-up," too. Good luck.
Deborah
