Goodbye Big Guy
Funny story, same fun as usual. I cast my vote for you.

Funny story. Well executed(so to speak).

Good story. Dead pet fish can be a touchy subject for pet fish owners but I think you handled this respectfully. For a more sobering thought check out http://www.publicradioquest.com/audio/user/6076
This is why you should always trust your own instincts! That's a fun story though, told very naturally.
Good luck to you!

I appreciate it. I know I need to trust my own instincts from now on. Also instincts said be a good husband. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
You did a terrific job helping us "see" the story as you told it. Lots of great details with a warm, comfortable delivery. I felt like we were sitting around the campfire swapping stories. Well done!
I have always admired people who can make you see a story being told. To be said I did that for you is truly one of the best compliments you could give me, so thank you!
A fun entry all-around. You have a really punchy delivery style, which I love: it's energetic and engaging, and your material was unique to say the least. Even though it was mostly a funny piece, you still incorporated some poignancy into the Big Guy's death. Really nice job!
The story unfolded nicely - I would say 'good imagry'... but maybe I should leave it at 'interesting' imagry. Well done.
Fortunately the fish didn't come back up and there was nothing else in the toilet. just clean water over flowing.
Funny story. I could "see" the story unfold as you were telling it which is a trait of a good storyteller. Good luck with your entry!

Awesome fish tale!
You captured my attention all the way through.:)
When I was 12, I had a pleco that grew about a foot and had to be moved to a friend's (larger) tank. My father, who is extremely frightened of fish (he actually had nightmares of this one jumping out and attaching itself to my face whilst I slept) was in charge of the moving process, and the pleco wasn't cooperating. Things got very very scary for my dad--the creature splashed, flipped and finally plopped its way into the large bowl we had for transport.
He was not amused.
Thanks again!
I have freaked out as well when cleaning hte tank and the Big Guy would come over and touch me. I feel your father's pain :)
Ha... it's so awesome, good practical advice, funny and I enjoyed listening to it.
My pleco is about six inches long. He's been scouring the tank for a year. He could go at any minute. Then again, so could your wife.
(Does she know you said that?)
Hee hee.
Fun entry.
Hahaha, you have many years left with your pleco. I had one a while ago for 8 years. As for the wife knowing the story, yes she has heard it, and while a bit embarrassed, she thinks it is funny.
I would so listen to any NPR show you hosted! :-)
Great job!
