WWSSP? What Would Steve Stokes Post?
As he is the undeniable all-star of PRTQ, I thought it only fitting that we play a quick round of What Would Steve Stokes Post?, America's fastest-growing game show. The game is simple: you take a comment (or part of a comment) that Steve Stokes has posted about you, and set it in a new (read: hilarious) context.
For example:
What would Steve Stokes post ... as my eulogy?
"You went right to the top of my A list. Too bad about the name."
It's the one thing most of us have in common: a comment from Steve. Let's not waste it!
Maybe he's saving himself for the official round two audio... just maybe...
Steve has left the forums...no comments no more replies, no more quote tags from some old dead greek guy.....is he alive? has he gone on to a better place?
has he abandoned us?? from here on this
symbol will be in remembrance of Steve
(~) I dont have a virtual bow so that will have to do....this is now the STEVE STOKES MEMORIAL FOUNDATION.....for every comment left with the symbol at the bottom (~) I will make Bafruss donate a dollar to the SSMF.....thus hepling spread words of philosophy via philosophic conversation!!!!
thanks for your support
(~)
But his posting is dead. He was certainly the first class hyper-poster. So maybe it should be the STOKES POSTING MEMORIAL FOUNDATION ?... Perhaps? Maybe...
or..
Steve Stokes Memorial Uber Reposter Foundation...
SSMURF for short
(I know... 'reposter' is weak but it's the best I could come up with for the letter "R")

A simple fly by comment and no response when I asked where he'd been... Perhaps he's not in desperate need of procrastination the way I am.

that and I've been cut off from the PRTQ during the weekdays.
My email still works though...
Steve
We can philosophize together until the words fail us.
I wish I knew more... but I've packed every cell, fired every synapse, and created logjams in every neural pathway. I'm going to have to forget a few things to make space... maybe I can forget those damned NPR contest entries; that'll free up a cell or two. dme
"Hypothesis.. Your Hostiness Sounds Great"
& then some quoted mumbo-jumbo.
I was fully satisfied w/ my Steve Stokes comment.
I found it succinct, w/o being overbearing & laborious.
Anything more would have brought everybody down, & I appreciated the effort to keep things light.
-(;o)~
What would Steve Stokes post...about what Steve Stokes posts?
"I hope you only use your superpowers for good."
Right on! From one SS to another...
"But you John, you're both good and good for us."
Wow, I've been fighting my weight for 10 years...and it's ME that's the ultimate diet food!
Thanks for the wonderful comment and encouragement, Steve.

I can't believe I've entered!
Speechguy says, "Please listen, vote and comment. Thanks."
Alas I have not been granted a comment by the talented Mr. Stokes...He might have voted on mine, but no comment left. I do understand about the deluge of entries...we are all trying our best. Good luck Steve!

In the early days everyone, that cared to, could keep up with all the comments being made. But now this over 1300 submissions, people hardly feel like they have time to leave a comment, let alone bother to read what humble comments I might have made.
Also there is the odd behavior of submitters to not even come back and read what comments have been left for them.
The submission size reached a critical mass that made it virtually impossible for the whole of the community to be followed.

It falls to the enlightened, and the intelligent and the sane to take responsibility for the deluded or doltish or insane.
That is why I advocate clearing you calendar, stocking up an Igloo cooler full of twinkies and diet coke, and taking to your bed with your laptop! WOOT!

Keep on rockin' in the free world.
The one thing that I can say after seeing his name everywhere I go, is that I see his name everywhere I go.

And this was just yesterday. I didn't realize he's a budding legend. Frankly I was getting a vibe that he might be hitting on me. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
::pimps clip::
This topic made me do a classic spit take.
Well done.

Steve
No one should, look back with regret on all that they never did: the beauties they did not see, the music they did not hear, the flavors they did not taste, the aromas they did not inhale, the sensations they did not feel.
WWSSP?
"She was a good kid... until she poked her eyes out with knitting needles. Unfortunately, there's no philosophy in such a tragic end. Just a vague channeling of Oedipus."

Steve Stokes being a judge in this competition????

My "Hostiness" is great, whatever...
Then I found out he says that to all the girls....
So I started my OWN thread about his dorkiness.
*oops*.
*blush*
It's all back-handed compliments, far as I'm concerned.
Cheap & dirty pool.
Yuck.
... why you feel so hostile toward Steve. I think he's been making a genuine effort to listen to everyone's entry and support the competition. He really is a nice guy, and I honestly believe that his efforts to vote and comment and post in the forums are more out of a sense of community than for any kind of self-promotion. I'm sorry if there's been a misunderstanding between you, but maybe you should drop him a line and talk it out. We all know he has his contact turned on ;)
Now he's got multiple log-in names too! Spread the word! He may even have multiple personalities! Don't just use this board, call someone and tell them right this minute without varifying what I'm saying or reading the context, not even for a second!

"All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy" - Spike Milligan
whom Mr. Stokes has not blessed with a comment, so I have no idea what he would post. I assume it would be friendly.

I'd try to get myself invited to those great parties you host!
Steve
Ultimately the paradoxes of life make fools of us all. So if we would be wise we should study life's paradoxes and confront our abject foolishness head on.
You're on the list.

Steve was the first one to reply to my spot saying "we have a lot in common" so thank you, Steve. Anyone else want to join him in being 'common' with me, please do.
But what does Steve do for a living that he has this much magnanimous, magnificent mesmeric time on his hands???
My guess is nightwatchman at an AARP center...or a ticket-seller for this season's Lakers and/or Dodgers.
