Irrational Fears
...seeing Kenny G's name taken in vain.
I like Kenny G. He plays for the '49ers, doesn't he?

I’ve come to see that the ultimate source of all human anguish is that we are finite beings sentient of infinity.
Jim, I think you've contracted Steve Stokes-itis. The only cure is to lay down with a cool cloth on your forehead, and think philosophical things. Let me know how that goes. ;-)
Lakeisha: I *have* been thinking that blogging or podcasting this might be fun! It's amazing how many people have come out of the woodwork with their own irrational fears, but I have to admit that I haven't heard any others about Kenny G. Well, to be fair, not about Kenny G and a death scene anyway. ;-) Anyway, thanks for the great comment and good luck to you, too!
Jomki: Bwaaahaaahaaa! My irrational fear taken to its completely (il)logical conclusion...perfect! And thank you SO much for the completely, fabulously lovely opening comment paragraph...so NOT creepy.
Good luck with the Quest!
Elizabeth: Actually, I don't think anyone has come to his defense! That's a little bit strange, considering all of the things people talk about on the boards, isn't it? ;-)
I listen to entries randomly as well, and I agree with you about getting surprised. I'm glad you liked my clip, and I'm thrilled that you took the time to leave such a great comment. Best of luck!
Cheers,
Moira
I wonder how many people have left comments defending the musical merits of Kenny G? This was really entertaining. I should have listened to it earlier, but I'm stuck on random. Some hate it, I love it. It keeps the audio fresh and unexpected. Well, this was a great "find." I really like your voice and your delivery shines. Nice writing. All-around strong entry. Good job.

Not bad as in... well bad. And not bad as in Michael Jackson Bad. Your voice is a "I want to bath in your voice while eating lots and lots of dark chocolate" kind of bad... This may sound creepy, it might even be creepy, okay it probably is creep, but I mean it in a good way.
Your entry is hilarious and your profile is funny and clever, too! But think about this. What if you start bad mouthing Kenny G while you are pinned down in your car listening to him on the radio, and then the only person around for miles who can possibly save you from this disaster is Kenny G, who happened to be driving behind you in his Porsche.
it's strong and commanding.
This is one of those "things that make you go, hmmm." You should actually blog this topic...I'm sure there are some really irrational and IRRITABLE fears out there.
Oh, and I take it you don't appreciate Kenny G? lol
Good luck on this quest!
Your voice is so smooth and real, and you might as well be my bestfriend revealling a secret. I hope you go ALL the way Moijo.
As for irrational fears, I've got one of flying but it's not about crashing. It's of an unmanned drink cart barrelling down the aisle where some of the overflow of my limbs have ventured in search of room to stretch.........
P.S. Your comments are as entertaining as your entry. You have a real gift of the gab!
Thank you SO much for your lovely comment! I've been really lucky to have a great bunch of people take the time to listen to my entry AND give positive feedback. What a community- it's been an awesome experience.
Oh, yes- the runaway drink cart in the aisle scenario: truly frightening and strangely possible, right? Even though I've never EVER heard of it really happening, it just seems like it could happen all the time. There was a scene in 'The Day After Tomorrow,' with a careening cart, and that was almost scarier than the world freezing over. Just kidding...well, mostly kidding anyway.
I've discoverd most of what I fear is about things that "might / could" happen.

I also fear people who forget their pants. (heeehee)

I have an irrational fear that I will get distracted by posts and forget to comment on a piece I really enjoyed. What else am I forgetting here? Oh, no! My pants!

...please find and put on your pants immediately. Do you really think that I need any *more* irrational fears?
I really laughed at your entry! It's awesome.

Julie...your clip has been one of my faves *forever* (where is our frickin' faves list?!??!?), so I'm extra-special chuffed that you like mine as well.
This is a great peek inside your brain, and what a show hosted by you might be like. You've got a great, warm voice - very sharp, witty and fun. Good luck!
Ok, talk about laughing out loud! I think we share some similar fears regarding less-than-hot music. Great voice on top of that. Reallym really good job!
And, um, I think i know exactly what your coworker's boyfriend looked like. Sorta...Kenny G? Ah! It's a conspiracy...
"Arghghghgh, Kenny G. for a boyfriend! Bleach in the eyeballs!"
I'm glad you liked my clip and, yes, we definitely *do* share some music fears!
First, I love what you did with your biographical info. Extremely clever. Second, but lots more important for this quest, your audio sounds great. You've got the gift.
Good luck.
Mary
Thanks for the lovely comment, Mary! I'm glad you enjoyed my bio...it's funny how it worked out that way.
I don't drive for the very reasons you have expressed. Actually I am more worried about running someone over . . . You are very hosty - whatever that means. I personally liked the moment where you breathed before stating your new fear . . . What would your show be like??
...running someone over, you say? Yikes...that's one that I hadn't thought of yet. Is that a good or a bad thing? ;-)
Anya, I have no idea what I would want to do for a show really! I do think it would be fun to do some expanded pieces in this vein, but as for a SHOW show, I'll just have to jump off that bridge if I get to it.
Thanks for voting and commenting!
I think you just came up with the name of your new radio show. :) Loved your submission. You're a host - it's there in spades. The best thing I can say: This left me wanting to hear several more installments. Tell me more. Paint your landscape for me. Show me stuff. Nudge something with your toe and then back away ... did it just move? I was charmed and wanted more. Excellent work. Best - patrick
Do you think we could do a show together? I think we'd make a good team, so I think we should make a pact to that effect. Whichever one of us gets a gig needs to bring the other along as well. What do you say?
It's been so great to read all of your comments, and I really appreciate your support.
Cheers,
Moira
i also have an irrational fear of going to prison! i'd getting eaten alive in there. i'm not gonna do anything to be sent there, but people get wrongly convicted...it happens! you have a great comfort and pace. very relaxed. nice work.

Its true, car crashes happen, but you can't spend your life worrying about these things, or when will you really live?!
I agree, it IS a shame about Britney though, not that My Prerogative was anything but a catch chorus in the first place. Still, it would make a nightmarish situation hellish!
Well paced entry. Good luck to you!

I can totally hear you coming out in that story. It would be fantastic hearing your stories on the radio. Good luck! :)
