Personal Advice - NPR Style

A call-in talk show that addresses personal issues “NPR Style” – with intelligence and respect for the listeners. Not to tell people what to think or do, but to facilitate a change process by addressing options and alternative views.

I hope you don't take my title the wrong way. I think your show idea is really good and well thought out. Your delivery of the idea really shows your enthusiasm for it as well. I agree that it would be great for people who might need that little extra push or advice about something in order to get them out of their rut. Or for helping people feel less isolated about a problem which might be more common than they think and which might have many options for resolution. Anyway, great job!

This is a nice concept...although, could we have *one* rambunctious Bostonian laughing in the background?

I’ve come to see that the ultimate source of all human anguish is that we are finite beings sentient of infinity.

Very nice. There are so many people out there giving flip advice just to entertain their listeners that this option would be quite a relief.

I want to express my appreciation to you for your nice comment. I put together the piece, recorded at home with my little jimmy-rigged computer set up, clicked that "Submit" button and then --- nothing!! No way to gage how it comes across at all, or if anyone is even hearing it. "Is MINE the only computer where this actually plays?"

Then of course, is that anxious moment when you first see that your "0 Replies" has actually changed to "1" (or in this case -- 2!!), and then you brace yourself for the criticism -- fearful that someone will pounce on all the imperfections that you hear as you listen!

So, thanks for your nice comments -- and for GETTING what I was going for -- a thoughtful approach to personal issues that is the antidote for flip advice!
