Frresh Air with Terry Gross!
This American Life can stop me dead on the dial any time, and I can't not listen to Click and Clack on CarTalk. I'm also a devotee of Lynne Rosetto-Kasper on MPR's Splendid Table-- seriously, her voice is like a fabulous entree and the perfect wine.

What's your secret talent?

My secret talent is "improverating." That and "authoritivizing."

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Hollow plastic wheels on concrete.

What's your favorite sound memory?

Ice cubes clinking in a double-old-fashioned glass, wind in the maple trees and rattling the day-lilies, and the pulley clanking on the flagpole. Add to that the whisk-turn of pages in an old Nancy Drew, maybe the hiss of a garter snake across the smooth, warm limestone, and you've got yourself a perfect sound memory. If tires crunch on the gravel driveway, you might just go out of your mind with the "summerness."
